(I meant as in the elites she's currently with. Out of the five of them, who'd be the highest one there. I'm asking because Mie probably wouldn't give orders to someone who's a higher rank than herself.) She smirked a bit in response as she caught the hilt. "You have my gratitude." Mie responds as she places the energy sword on her hip after she put her helmet back on. When they get to the other airlock, the idea of blowing up the door sounded tantalizing, but risky since she's not too knowledgeable of how much explosives it'd take to blow out the door without blowing up the entire docking tube. "Let us see if we can get them to open up..." She thought out loud before attempting to communicate with the bridge. "We are docked. Are you able to open the airlock?"
The weapon is very smooth. It has almost no corners. You notice it has a holographic sight and that it has two flaps on the side that seem like they might come off. You don't feel like trying to get them off yourself though. "Yeah? What is -" He spots the Wraith moving below. You can tell that his eyes are widening under that helmet. "I'll work faster." He starts to rapidly type in different codes. The airlock still isn't opening. "How many can there be?!" The Wraith still doesn't seem to have noticed you, but that can change any second now. ((Should still be a commander. By that I mean the leader of a group. I'm not that familiar with ranks. I'm more familiar with the friend or foe system.)) Even if you decided to blow it up, you'd probably have a bit of trouble finding some of the explosives. You get the message through to the bridge. "Yeah. I should be able to do that. If you're on that side, then I should be able to just do this..." After a few more seconds, the airlock slides open with a small hiss. You don't spot anything that could be a threat. Unless you count a bit of dust and dirt as a threat. That is only one room though.
Jake calls Michael and Lucas over the comms, warning them of the wraith while Ethan checks what kind of firepower the corvette has.
"Yup. I've seen it. Why won't this thing open?!" You certainly enough to destroy the Wraith, but in doing so you might end up vaporizing Michael and Lukas. It would be great if you were fighting another ship though.
He makes as little sound as possible but keeps his gun ready, just trying to stay hidden as long as possible, but ready to fire as soon as that's over.
You can't remotely access the ship. You'd probably have to get down there before you could do anything. Good news is that Michael and Lukas opened the door. Bad news is that the Wraith noticed them. "Come one... GOT IT!" As the airlock opens, the Wraith notices you. Michael hops into the driver's seat and floors it into the airlock as the Wraith fires. He falls out of the Warthog and starts tapping a keypad again as the plasma ball gets closer... closer... and the airlock is closed. You hear the shot hit the airlock about a half second after. Now you're in a dimly lit hallway that's at about 45 degrees.
"There may be one soon. Hopefully not though. Judging from every other situation I've been in, there will unfortunately be a battle soon." You're entering a patch of trees now. One of them gets run over by the tank. You watch as it falls and the tank drives over it like nothing happened. You're very close. You can just feel it...
"Guys, what does it look Like down there. The wealth is still there, and if the hull is able to withstand it, I would like to fire at the wraith" Jake explained over the comm systems, while Ethan checked if the hull of the research vessel could withstand the blas to destroy the wraith, but no more power, and charges all the weaponry.
Mie steps into the room before she takes the energy sword and activates it, seeing it's probably a better weapon than the plasma pistol at the moment. Although she's somewhat surprised the enemy isn't here since they gave a grace period to allow Vistar to do whatever he did, she doesn't let her guard down yet. She motions for the other elites to stay close before moving towards the next room, preferably one heading towards the bridge.
The hull doesn't seem like it could handle a blast from the cruiser. It would probably end up being like a hot knife through butter. It would definitely destroy the Wraith, but it would also take out Michael and Lukas. --- Angry RAM finds himself in a Forerunner room that has been damaged. You can remember a large ship crashing... firing the particle cannons... and then being almost destroyed by the ship. That must be why the repairs have taken so long... Now that you're up and running, you feel like you should do something. You don't encounter any resistance in the next room, either. Seems a bit off... they must be planning something. You don't know what, but this is not like the Covenant. It should be a short walk from here to the bridge. Maybe they could give you some ideas as to what the Covenant might be doing. You go through another door that leads to a hallway. This should get you to the bridge.
This gives Mie an uneasy feeling. Obviously, there's something she's missing, and she doubts that all of the Covenant would simply hide from them, unless they were all Unggoy, then perhaps, but that was even less likely. The Sangheili continued to walk towards the bridge in hopes of finding out what exactly is going on. "Keep your eyes open; something is clearly not right..." Once approaching the door to the bridge however, she becomes skeptical. Seeing how easy it was to get here, she starts to feel that this might be a set up. She orders the others to move away from the front of the door before she'd try opening it while taking cover behind the wall next to it.
Jake and ethan watch, and prep themselves for descent, hoping that somehow they could find a way to disable the wraith. maybe by taking the hunter cannons? ___________________________________________________________________________ ___________________________________________________________________________ Angry RAM checks the integrity of the planet, before teleporting into the cannon control room. maybe the logs will show the outome of the ship?
The Hunter cannons should work, but a few well-dropped plasma grenades would be nice too. Especially if you primed one and put it in a bag that you drop. The planet's integrity is at 99.943%. You aren't sure whether it was just the ship that caused that much damage or not. The logs show that the ship was hit, split into two, and then crashed. You also notice that the cannons were deactivated recently... strange... If it is a setup, it is an obvious one. That's what you don't want in a setup. Which means that this most likely isn't a setup... There's reverse psychology though, so that makes it a 50/50 chance. When you get to the door and take cover, it ends up automatically opening. You can hear the voice of the Elite from the comms. "What's this? Do we have ghosts? Or are the Covenant trying to take back the bridge?" No one tries to come out of the bridge or shoot at you. That's a good sign. Unless it's reverse psychology.
(I know this will hurt Jake and Ethan but...) Angry RAM reactivates the cannons, before teleporting to the crashed ship, mutturing to himself about how mad he was that his planet had to be attacked out of the ENTIRETY of space. __________________________________________________________________________________ Jake asks the marines to donate some "plasmanades", while Ethan, using as much of his flying skill he has, tries to maneuver the ship to an optimal drop point.
Let's try not to over think this, Mie thought to herself. The Covenant probably wouldn't go so far as to start playing mind games, frivolous ones at that. When hearing the same elite from the comms earlier, she moves out from her cover before motioning the others to follow behind. She puts her guard down at this moment as she convinced herself that it isn't a setup anymore; the covenant was up to something not quite as cliqué it seemed. "Just us. We haven't ran into any of the Covenant yet. Are they all about to abandon ship?" Mie asked, confused as to why things aren't as she expected.
