That bystander at the Stardew Valley Fair who can only say, 'Wow, that's the biggest wheel of cheese I've ever seen.' Really, buddy? Is it? In your endless travels of the wide world, your vast personal experience with all things dairy, you come to my town to tell me what size a wheel of cheese should be? You make me sick. Oh, sure, it's easy to stand on the sidelines of a grange display and pass judgment on someone /else's/ wheel of cheese, now isn't it. You. You with your subjective measurements of cheese. I wash my hands of you, you, cheese elitist. (I don't really have to explain I'm kidding, right? Yeah, I probably do. Poe's Law and all that.)
Abigail. She is just too much of an "everything needs to be real edgy or I dislike it" kid and it's just a little too much for my personal taste.
You'd have really hated me at 19. Personally not a big fan of Lewis or Pierre really. Morris isn't great but I'm more neutral to him due to him not being painted as one of the 'good guys' I guess. It's pushed that he's skeevy and such.
IDK I'm over 30 and I'm to the point what I hate about myself at 19 is more the actually really stupid stuff I did that was actively harmful even though I honestly didn't know better than the harmless 'cringe' stuff. I guess I just think life's too short to worry about harmless stuff. That being said I can almost empathize with her because her dad doesn't seem to have time and her mom doesn't really seem to know what to do with her, and that will impact how you act especially when you're still young.
I'm over 30 as well, and saaame. Despite finding her a bit immature, I sympathize with Abby. Even if you don't have a bad relationship with your parents, having to live with them as an adult can be extremely frustrating and result in a lot of tension and fighting. Especially if your parents don't seem to recognize that you are an adult, like hers.
Caroline - snooby Clint - always in a bad mood Maru - just can't appeal to her and rlly hate her looks sry ( but have to admit I rlly like Robin and Demetrius How can such lovely people have such a ..boring unexciting daughter?? She even acts totally different..must be adopted..)) Emily - weird and even tho she takes care of her sister always seems to be " on another planet" and dont care for anyone else.
I "dislike" any character that has a tendency to be self-pitying. We just met bro, why are you telling me all this? (I say "dislike" because I just ignore canon and replace their personalities with something more interesting, so I actually quite like Linus, for example)
hmmm, to me is more of characters I feel indifferent than dislike, if I say dislike is Morris, a little is Demetrius and Lewis.
Not keen on Jodi. Mainly because she reminds me of some of the mums I am forced to socialise with through having small children. Their only function in life is having children and housework/making dinner. And it's all they talk about... Can't warm to Emily. I do want to but she just seems a bit too woo for me. Clint for his Nice Guy attitude. Lewis because of how he treats Marnie. Heads up, Lewis you're not that exciting that everyone would be shocked that you're banging her...
Oddly enough Jodi kinda gives off the impression she resents that life though. Like she wishes she wouldn't have settled down and had kids so soon. She's resigned to it because she has to, but I think she dreams of freedom from it too.
I agree. Which is why I'd love it if she spoke about things she might be passionate about instead of wondering desperately what she's going to make for dinner that evening lol....
From Jodi's dialogue file: "We kind of rushed into our marriage, with Kent being a soldier and all... I hardly got a taste of youth and freedom, and now it's too late to ever go back." Jodi never really had the chance to develop a life and interests of her own as an adult because of these circumstances, and she's kind of mourning that fact. She cautions the farmer against making the mistake of having a family too soon (a line I personally appreciate, because mothers are so discouraged from speaking frankly about that). Her life revolves around her kids because she wants them to be carefree and avoid the harsh realities of the world for as long as possible. Almost everything is on her shoulders while Kent is gone. The knowledge that he could be killed in action is something that looms over the family until year 2, and then he comes back with PTSD and things aren't the way they used to be. I'm sure that they all love each other, but there are a lot of underlying issues in that family and the happiness is a bit of a facade. Everyone is entitled to dislike who they dislike, of course, but I really feel for Jodi and Kent.
I do feel for Jodi too. I think I was a bit casual in my note of dislike for her. It's not so much that I dislike her as a character because I do understand the crummy situation she finds herself in. It's more that she reminds me of people I don't like in real life.
