I think a map editor would be a little bit out of scope. Programs that focus entirely on being a map editor would do this job better. But if somebody wants to do this, a "mod" can be made that includes a map-editor and can be run from within SilVerPLuM.

Are there already existing map-editors that can handle this? I've seen some, but don't know what they are able to do or if they are still updated.

Now I understand what you mean. Can you suggest me a mod that needs such kind of editor to add modded objects? Then I can investigate what to do.

For Linux users who don't have access to Qt 5.7 and quazip5 I re-uploaded a new Linux package of the current version that includes the necessary libraries. The included BASH-script will take care of getting the thing to work. Won't look pretty (at least it didn't while testing it with Linux Mint), but it seems to work.

Qt 5.6 is the minimum (QVersionNumber needed), but https://github.com/kriana who now takes care of compiling it for Mac (can't say thank you enough) had some strange bugs that I think may be related to Qt 5.6.

Is there a list of currently working mods for Silverplum? Wanna experiment this stuff...

I didn't encounter a list of working mods, yet. But if they are SMAPI and especially content replacer mods, you can import them via the mod importer. (Note that the SMAPI mods don't have correct dependency checking).

The Github repository has some example mods you can try (at least SMAPI seems to work fine). Just download the zip and 'Add Modification'
