Yea, it's definitley low priority, and easily worked around. Thanks for putting in a ticket though.
And sorry; I'm not a programmer(enough knowledge to have a vague understanding, but not enough to competently write the code), but I'm hoping this info might help a bit.

From what I could glean from the CJB Item Spawner code, and testing in game.

The "Tools & Equipment menu has SOME items available in every language because it's using "item is X" in the code. Where X seems to be handled by the game, and those items get translated differently.
Example: Tools & Weapons, both fall under the same 'Tools.cs' category; which is presumably the one loaded by CJB Item Spawner.
Code:

  Tool.cs.14305: "Club" #!String
  Tool.cs.14306: "Sword" #!String
  Tool.cs.14307: "Tool" #!String
While the one, "item.getCategoryName()"; for Rings, is missing because it's grabbing the Display name which is being translated.

And, the menu entry for "Resources & Crafting" shows SOME items, because besides the 2 missing categories. It also pulls the item category number directly to fill in the gaps, 'item.category == -X'
Not sure about "Miscellaneous", but everything else seems to need to be translated based on their translated names in the StringsFromCSFiles.

I already went ahead, and grabbed the translated names so y'all don't have to hunt down each name. But, that's assuming there isn't a better way to load the categories into the menu entries.

I've installed the item spawner but when I open my game it doesn't work. Nothing else has changed, it works as it did before just without any mods. I'm on a mac but went through the instructions for Mac and Linux. My last SMAPI log was:

Where did you place the CJBItemSpawner folder? The logfiles shows it can't seem to find it.

I put it into the mods folder within the game files that i accessed through steam by browsing local files. its changed now and is saying i've loaded a mod but not the item spawner. plus, and i know that this is just me showing my ignorance about modding anything in the first place, i'm not sure how to update smapi without going through the whole process all over again. thank you so much for all of your help

For updating SMAPI; just install as before, and let it overwrite what it needs to.

As for installing the mod; seems like you have the method down. When you extracted the folder from the zip file. You should've gotten something that looks like so. The CJBItemSPawner folder, with 3 files insde. Did you move the whole folder, or just the files? It need to be the whole folder.

Your mods folder should look similar. TrainerMod is included with SMAPI, which is why you see it loading on your end. And, then you place the CJBItemSpawner folder next to TrainerMod.

Fixed support for non-English players, including tab filtering & translated item names.

If one spawns a legendary fish, does the save file think that you have caught the fish? I've been trying to get the angler for six days straight and in frustration spawned it - but the game doesn't recognize it as "caught" (doesn't appear in collection and thus cannot get the achievement).
My question is, is the reason why the angler isn't appearing because I spawned it -> game thinking the save file has it already -> cannot catch it?

The legendary fish icon doesn't even appear, it's not that I cannot catch it.

@Lumilimu The game only counts fish caught with a crab pot or fishing rod. If you send me your save file, I can check your game data.

@Lumilimu The game doesn't think you caught the angler, so it should appear. Make sure you're fishing at the right place and time. Based on the game code, the angler will appear with a 20% chance if...

the season is fall;

your fishing level is 3+;

you haven't already caught the angler;

you're fishing north of this line:

I'm running into a really strange problem when im trying to use this mod. I've got the latest version, ive tried reinstalling and restarting. I read the error text in smapi and it said something about microsoft xna, so i found and installed the xna redistributable from the microsoft site, no dice, ive tried installing the .net framework, still no dice. My friend can use the same mod no problem, and ive never had this problem with it before. any ideas?

@sp00kyskelebones It looks like you replaced some of your content files with XNB mods, but replaced the wrong file. (You replaced a data XNB with an image XNB.) See reset your content files to fix it.

i used this mod and i spawned an item called locked door outside my house and i can't move it no matter what i do , i've tried every tool and megabombing, if someone know how to fix it pls tell me i would be so thankful
