Drones are ubiquitous throughout Avali territory serving in every role imaginable, from tiny hovering protocol drones the size of a child's toy, to full-blown unmanned military spacecraft or orbital transports.
While military drones get a lot of discussion, non-combat drones are by far the most prevalent. Tribes make heavy use of specialized drones in their work, from generic fabricators that can assemble structures or equipment from blueprints, to miners, surveyors, cargo lifters and more. Even in the context of a civilian environment it's not uncommon to see tiny protocol drones that can be used as eyes, ears and hands by individuals who might be physically worlds away, as well as numerous civil applications such as cleaners, service drones, and medical assistants.

In this mod's case, it adds a little maintenance drone to your Avali's starship, utilizing an experimental biofuel battery that can run on a variety of different substances...even pet food. However, its AI seems to have developed a few...quirks, and it seems to be acting more like a living thing than a programmed machine...

Also included is a drone dock to use as a pet house, craftable from the avali nanolathe, as well as optional files for a hovering jet animation for the drone. If you want to use them, just go into monsters\pets\avalidronepet\parts\optional, remove the jet extensions on the png names, and copy them into the parts folder.

For those that wonder how the drone hovers, it uses a propeller housed within the ring on its head,with the drone's body hooked up underneath it.


This download comes with two separate versions of the mod. Only install one of them.
If you use Purchasable Pets, install avalidronepet-ppets, which makes the drone pet spawnable from the drone dock. The dock itself, however, is not purchasable from Infinity Express, it remains craftable from the Avali nanolathe.
If you don't use Purchasable Pets, just install the regular avalidronepet file, which uses the vanilla pet mechanics.
