    I think you should precise that the distance of water is relative to the height, it seems to water waaay more than 21 block if you place it high enough [not quite sure]

      yes, thats true.. thats why i paintet the right wall too ;)
      of cours if you put it higher it reaches wider, but the range is limited by the planets gravity
