Mech Overhaul 1.1.4

Primarily replaces the mech energy system with fuel powered mechs.

  1. FDAVILOKA
    NOTES:
    For you to be able to fuel your mech or change loadouts you NEED the QuickbarMini mod that comes bundled in the zip folder, just extract everything on the zip to your mods folder.
    Check out the mod on github if you want to follow development.

    Ever wanted to go on a 10 hour mining session or on a mob killing spree on your super buff mech without going back to you ship every 2 minutes?

    Then this is the mod for you!

    NEW BARS

    This mod primarily replaces the old mech energy system with two separate bars: one for fuel and one for your mech's health.

    Obviously the health bar depletes as you take damage and the fuel bar over time.
    Your mech's health bar will replenish automatically when you go back to your ship, your mech's fuel will not.
    You can fuel your mech with oil, erchius or fuel through the mech fuel quickbar icon.

    Specific fuel for mechs can be crafted using the Oil Distiller and the Fuel Refinery (check the updates section for more info).

    The fuel bar decays normally as with vanilla energy.
    Your mech's fuel count stays throughout your playthroughs and the universe.

    MANUAL FLIGHT MODE

    You can switch your mech to flight mode anywhere double tapping the up button (w key as default), that is, as long as you have fuel left.

    LOADOUTS
    -A brand new interface on the quickbar: the Mech Loadouts.

    -Through that interface you can change your mech's loadouts.
    -A loadout is a set of items that are equipped on your mech that you can change with the click of a button on the mech loadouts screen (there are 3 loadouts availiable).
    -You can't change loadouts when your mech is deployed.

    MECH UPGRADE MODULES
    -Added several mech upgrade modules that can be equipped through the mech assembly interface.
    -Each module gives a bonus and penalty according to what it does, their descriptions are pretty self-explanatory.
    -You will always need to equip a module slot expansion on the leftmost assembly interface slot, they come in 3 different sizes, one that unlocks the first module slot, one that unlocks the first 2 module slots and the last that unlocks all 3 upgrade slots.
    -Modules and slot expansions can be crafted by the mech crafting station on a new tab, you will start with the recipe for all module slot expansions but you have to find the recipes for the actual modules on space encounters like all other mech part recipes.

    MECH MASS
    -Now mechs parts have mass based on the part stats, the higher the stats the more mass the part will have.
    -Mech part mass will be shown on the item tooltip.
    -Mechs will gain bonuses and penalties based on mass.
    A health bonus based on mass;
    A speed penalty up to 70% less speed based on mass;
    More energy drain up to 0.3 more based on mass;
    -All that info will be shown on the mech assembly interface.

    MORE CHANGES
    -All mech parts consume nearly half as much energy as on vanilla game, to compensate for fuel being more expensive than some generic energy.
    -Space encounters energy drops now are purple and replenish health and half as much energy as in the vanilla to compensate for fuel being more expensive.
    -You can press the down key to crouch your mech and if your mech is on the ground and is idle it won't consume any energy (thanks to the XS Mechs Modular Edition for the free redistribution code).
    -When your mech reaches 0 health it will explode.
    -When your mech reaches 0 fuel it will stay idle and you will not be able to control it until you fuel it (unlike vanilla where it despawns completely).

    This is a great edition to the mods available as the mechs energy runs out way too fast even best teir mechs

    Really good. never had issues, other than the tutorial bug. but please. there is something that causes the mechs to shut down n unable to move when u use charged weapons. like the cannons n so forth. its really game breaking n hinders players from alot of weapons with ur mod. i recommend looking into that.

    love this mod but there is a slight bug when i tried doing the mech testing mission it did not have any fuel on the first try worked well on the second try its just a bit frustrating

      I'm still trying to pinpoint what's causing bug, but as it isn't game breaking and only happens once it will probably stay here for a while.

    A must-have mod, Feels like the erchius fuel has another use, with the new fuel that it adds this mod, also the manual flight Mode is so awesome imo.
