Pandora's Box (Legacy) V4.0.2-Final

This aims to add variations to unique monsters, add uniques of it's own, and other little tweaks!

  1. Pandora's Box V2.5 - BIG update

    ManicRykker
Hey guys, 2.5's finally here, and HOLY CAKETOPS do we have a stockpile!

I'll just let the changelog do the talking...:

    2.5 CHANGELOG

    NEW MONSTERS

Winterbop - These bulbop relatives live in cold environments. They're more hardy than their relatives,
but have issues staying awake. Even when moving, they aren't well aware of their surroundings, and won't even
target you unless you strike first. (Even in combat they can be a little groggy though...)

Cottonbop - Cottonbops are bulbop relatives found in garden biomes. Don't let their floaty lifestyles fool you
    into thinking they're easy prey.

They release cotton puff spores when threatened. The cotton puff spores may seem
harmless, but you won't think that for very long if you just recklessly collide with them...

Candybop (36) - These candy-like bulbops are docile like the Caketops! They produce candy corn. They can
only spawn from Candy Boxes. They produce candy corn.

Mallow Bop (18) - These marshmallow like bulbops are another candy monster. Like they Candybops, they
also only spawn from Candy Boxes. They produce marshmallows.

Tar Gummi (79) - The composition of some Gummis are heavily affected by the habitat in which they live.
For example, Gummis that chose to live in areas with a lot of tar became Tar Gummis.

Tar Gummi lost the ability to charge, but can spit tarballs at their targets.

Flesh Gummi - A fleshy Gummi relative that lives in Flesh biomes. Splits into Flesh gumminis when killed.

Shnail (20) - Shnails are closely related to Sluirms. The primary difference, is the presence of a shell!

Shnails, unlike Sluirms are more physical tanks than they are elemental.

Octotop (17) - Lives in oceans. Spawns only during the night.

Luminorb (683) - Luminorbs are mysterious glowing balls of light found in the atmospheres of planets at night,
and in bioluminescent biomes. Makes for a nice light pet.

Added new "Pandora" constructs for the Pandora Boxes, and improved existing ones.

    THE ORELIT FAMILY

Orelits are related to Peblit, but the key feature that sets them apart, is the fact that they contain
    veins of different ores.

There's an orelit for every vanilla ore type, and their stats depend on the ore they contain. You'll
find these guys underground regardless of planet tier, but bare in mind higher tiered orelits will be stronger,
and spawn far less frequently than lower tiers.

Each section of the underground also only picks from two orelits per section, and some orelits will only
be on the list of certain sections. Happy hunting!

    NEW SHIP PET: Gummi

This isn't your average Gummi! These Gummis are the cream of the crop, graduating from the
Gummiversity of Ship Pets. You can tell they're qualified for the job, because they wear glasses.

    BULBOP FARMING

Bulbop monsters and Mandraflora have a chance of dropping bulbs (essentially seeds) of their respective
species. These bulbs can be planted like standard crops, and grown like standard crops.

They yield Bulbop Objects (as well as some other loot obtained from farming them like
more seeds and plantfibre) that can be placed on a planet, and woken up.

Home-Grown Bulbop monsters (across all species) are better stat-wise than their wild
counterparts, so if you're interested in using Bulbops as actual monster companions,
or maybe want a method of just farming the guys in general, it's definitely worth trying.

    SPICER CONTENT

Implemented variants of the jumping spider monster (74 variants to be exact) of the Spider Nest mod
(Created by Gay Monster Dad), and Hopper/Bunnything (61 variants) of Frackin Universe (Created by Sayter)
This is a part of some future experimental content known as 'Spicer Content' I'll be working on.

For more information on this 'Spicer Content', please see the new thread on it in the Unstable Branch
    discussions.

    PET RENAMER

You've wanted it, and now it's finally a reality! One of Frackin Universe's code wizards, Hubnester has
provided a helping hand to make this dream a reality!

The pet renamer is a device that, aptly put, can rename captured monsters. You can obtain this marvelous
device either by purchasing one from Shoptop, or by crafting it yourself at the Capture Station!

(Hubnester, and by extension Frackin Universe (as this wonderful code is also being used in a new object
of theirs), will be added to the credits. (Frackin was already listed prior, but now I'm expanding it
proper, to mention the presence of this feature in both mods.))

    PET STORAGE CONSOLE

You can now craft a useful device known as the Pet Storage Console. This object acts as storage
for your captured pets, and displays a preview of them in the container itself!

(This object utilizes (with permission), the capture pod cupboard interface of the
    Enhanced Storage mod.

Full credit goes to the original mod author for any assets (particularly script files and
various ui images) from ES present within PB to ensure it functions as intended.)

    PET SYSTEM IMPROVEMENTS

Hubnester has made several improvements to the pet system!

-Pets now have personalities! When a monster is captured, it's personality will shine through.
Monster personalities affect their stats (In good ways, bad ways, and sometimes in both ways), and
affect their thoughts (You'll see status messages from your capture monsters now above their heads)

You know have an even bigger reason capture monsters of the same species! Some monsters will perform
a little better (or a little worse) than others!

(If your pet existed before this update, it will have status messages, but no personality. Not to worry though,
Hubnester created an object that can assign a personality to pre-Pandora's Box 4.5 pets! Shoptop sells it,
and it can be crafted at the Capture Station as well.)

    INCREASED PET LIMIT

Thanks once again to the help of Hubnester, you can now have up to three pets out at one time, rather than
just one! (You can only see the stats of one pet at a time though. You'll have to check them individually)

Now you can truly be strategic! What monsters will you pair up? Your monster team is at your command!

-Shoptop has pulled together a Capture Cannon Mech Arm for your mechs! This mech arm, as the name implies,
fires capture pods! Great if you're going monster hunting in your mech, and don't want to have to leave your
mech just to chuck a pod at it.

Convenience of course comes at a price, and this mech arm is twice as expensive as the capture cannon
device he already sells. (And no, he totally didn't just make this mech arm from homing missle arm
scrap parts he found in a dumpster at a space station...)

    - You can now craft relocators with increased capacity! (They're crafted at the Agricultural Table
    (The Foraging Table Upgrade)

Relocator Mk2 stores 6 critters, and Relocator Mk3 stores 12.)

    - Wish you didn't constantly have to go back and forth between pet healing stations every time your pet's
health gets dangerously low, or have to lug one around with you on your adventures? Well we have something that
may make things a little easier on you!

Pet pills are items you can give to your injured pets. They absorb them if their health is low, and will get
health back based on the quality of the pill.

There are four pill types: The Regular Pet Pill, which heals 10, The Super Pet Pill which heals 50,
the Nano Pet Pill, which heals 100, and the powerful Max Pet Pill, which heals a pet's health to *full*!

(Remember that your pet can only absorb a pet pill if it's alive. You'll still need to take dead pets
to pet healing stations! Also be mindful when administering your pet pills to your pets. They will only
be absorbed by injured pets, but it's best to heal pets one at a time, else risk a pet with minor injuries
taking one of your higher grade pet pills...)

    - You can now craft Candy Boxes. These boxes are obtained by crafting them in your empty handed crafting menu.
They require a Candy Key which you can buy at Shoptop. (You must have at least cleared the Lunar Mission before
    he will start selling them)

Candy Boxes spawn Caketops, as well as the new Candybops!

    - You can now craft Ruin Boxes. They require a Ruin Key to craft.

Ruin Boxes spawn Tentaclones, genetic clones of the Ruin monsters. (They have their own stats different from
their mission counterparts, and they are catchable!)

    TWEAKS

-A Note to all you monster hunters out there:
Mister Wisper, and Omnix will now NOT spawn in biomes as they did before. I am making them
    Pandora Box exclusives.

You're probably wondering: Why? Well it's due to how the spawning system works..

I consider Mister Wisper and Omnix legendary monsters. Though I did set them up to spawn very
rarely in certain biome types, the way the system is handled in game isn't to my liking for monsters
like these. Spawngroups for a planet are selected on generation, and the planet sticks with it.
(This is also the reason why mods that added monsters cause problems on those planets when they
    are removed.)

Because of this, when Mister Wisper or Omnix was selected for their respective biome, they would
ALWAYS be able to spawn in that particular area, of that particular planet. (This means the player
could potentially set a flag or something in that area to hunt for them... and I don't really like this.)

By making them Pandora Box exclusives, a balance is met. Since each monster has a rough 1/??? chance of
spawning due to the boxes pulling from a random list, this makes them much less abusable.

-Moon spawning reworked with the addition of Erchius orelits. This new monster won't appear on existing moons
unfortunately, but at least the spawns of the others will be subdued.

-You will now only encounter Moontants on the surface of moons. Erchits spawned up there too, but I'm
    doing away with that.

-Under the surface is where things get interesting. There are four moon monsters you can potentially encounter
    down here:
Moontant, Erchlit, Erchling, and Erchius Orelits.

The catch is, each moon will only have two underground moon monsters... so you could encounter one moon that has
erchits and erchlings under the surface, and another that has erchius orelits and moontants. Gotta love
    variety!

-Night-spawning Nocttops adjusted. They're a separate monstertype, though the same species
-Their spawnrate has been decreased a bit, and they spawn solo, rather than in potential groups of 2.
-Their health is 70 rather than 100
-Their physical resistance is lower too.
-Their query range is a little lower

The Midnight biome Nocttops have had a few buffs
-Touchdamage increased from 14 to 16
    -Attacks now inflict poison.

-Added monsters I forgot to add to the Mech monster detection system

-Shoptop now sells the Protectorate Monster Protocol Codex too, in case you didn't
get that from the grab bag loot (ie pre-existing characters made before the grab bag was added)

-Thanks to the help of the user Hubnester, a Frackin Universe code wizard, there have been some improvements
    to the homing capture pods!

Finally, you won't have to worry about the pods going after monsters you can't capture! It will only go after
catchable monsters who's health is low enough for the capture. Large groups of monsters who's health is low enough
could still be a problem, but this should make their use much less of a headache!

-Monsters in one area will no longer have the same name when captured. (Hubnester)

-Cottonbop now spawns in place of Gumminis in garden biomes

-Fixed a typo in the Capsulepop Machine's name.

-Pandora Box monster spawns are now *NO LONGER PERSISTENT*. Better do it right the first time when
    fighting something from it...

-Underground spawns reworked to accommodate the Orelits. As usual, this stuff won't matter for pre-existing
    planets, only freshly generated ones.

-Hubnester fixed the issue with lilodon in the collections.
    Huzzah!

-Hubnester fixed an exploit with the capturepods that's present in vanilla, so I can finally tone down their
    ridiculous cooldown! Changes include
-Cooldown on capturepod throws removed completely
-WindupTime is still present, but has been cut in half.

In general, you will immediately notice that you can:
-Capture pods are much more responsive now, and you shouldn't have to wait nearly as long to be able to throw
    them
-The wait time from switching to the pod from another tab will be much shorter

-Adjusted the designs of Mysterix, Frostix, Toxix, and Electrix

    -Sluirm speed doubled

-Snorktop has been tweaked to only spawn during the day

And anything else I may have forgotten. (This is a big update ok?)
    Saint Apollyon likes this.
