Installation:
To install Spacebound simply extract the data from the zip file into your Starbound/mods directory. Remember to delete older versions before installing updated mods. See the For Your Consideration section at the bottom for more detailed instructions.
Description:
Spacebound changes the following things in the game -
Nav Computer-
Changes the background stars, grid and a few other cosmetics, nebulae, and orbital rings.![]()
Also extends the previously travelled line to 6 planets and re-colors it. Constellation lines were re-colored too.
![]()
Changes the appearance of suns in the Nav computer. Changes the appearance of gas giants.![]()

(gas giant shown in background)
Nebula, Stars, and FTL-
Alters the stars and Nebulae in space. This mod lets the game choose from 34 nebula clouds that can contain neighboring stars and distant planets.

![]()
Also note the clouds above the planets, these were changed also.
The nebulae that appear on moons were also changed.![]()
The speed and color of FTL is changed.![]()
Aurora and Clouds-
Changes the aurora in game to occur more often and on different types of biomes. There is also a variety of aurora types - They have a chance to drift along the sky also - at different speeds - the possibilities :O There are currently 22 types! A few examples:![]()

Aurora spawn percentages are as follows:
Arctic biome has a 50 % chance to spawn aurora
Tundra biome has a 40 % chance to spawn aurora
Snow biome has a 35 % chance to spawn aurora
Forest biome has a 30 % chance to spawn aurora
Grassland biome has a 30 % chance to spawn aurora
Desert biome has a 10 % chance to spawn aurora
Ocean biome has a 15 % chance to spawn aurora (need a mod to enable oceans)
Jungle biome has a 10 % chance to spawn aurora
Savannah biome has a 10% chance to spawn aurora
Adds more clouds and types of clouds to spawn on planets, also removes clouds from some. If you are using VitsotU there is a patch that adds new clouds to some of its biomes (see VitsotU patch section)![]()

VERSIONS AND OPTIONAL LINK:
Here is an optional link for Spacebound from dropbox:
https://www.dropbox.com/s/j2wxx81pm5x4583/Spaceboundv2.zip
The following are links for the separate parts of Spacebound = if you don't want to use the full version you can use any variation of these three - they work as stand alones.
Nav Computer :

Nebulae:

Aurora+Clouds:

BiomeTex:
This is a link to my new texture mod. It alters the backdrops on planets with light texturing, adds textures to planet masks in space - and changes them in the orbital view. It originally was part of this mod but because of size and ease of use...
http://community.playstarbound.com/index.php?resources/biometex-wip.1915/
This is for extreme Nebulae - unzip the sky.config and copy it over the one that's in the Spacebound (or Nebulae) mod folder. More Nebulae with more movement - may kill FPS!

(updated 3/16)
This link is for a different looking FTL if you were looking for something with a little more color. Unzip like the main mod (all the paths are complete) into starbound/mods and let it merge and overwrite (copy and replace). If using Nebulae mod only - extract the sky folder out of this and copy it into Nebulae mod folder

MOD compatibility
Mods that change the biome.parallax files and the sky.config file will have the most problems with this mod (from either not showing assets of this mod up to crashing). I use the merge command in cockpit.config file, and the celestial.config but you may still have problems. So far I have only seen a few mods that are probably not compatible - cloud mod, noftlflash , noftlflashes , and FPSBooster.
(if you find any others please notify me)
I have not had the time to run with Exploration Enhanced but I peeked quick once and it looked like with that one you wouldn't see much aurora at allbut the other stuff should work - do not know - have not tested yet, same with New Horizon
as far as the rest of the stand-alone biomes - no aurora but all else would work I think
Two mods that I really enjoy and that work well with this mod are Variety is the spice of the Universe by Dracyoshi and Starscape by Ganondude.
Variety adds a bunch of stuff having to do with the universe seed, so planets and weather with some other changes.
Starscape adds in some more biome combinations and new star types along with new sectors.
The following section pertains mostly to these two mods.
Starscape is still working with this- a patch will be worked on if required - please let me know if further tweaks are needed! The most current issues under Enraged versions being you wont see the changes I made to the 3 suns.
If you are using this with Variety and Starscape PLEASE follow the installation instructions on their page - then add in Spacebound - and then variety patch (see below) if you want the extra aurora's and cloud changes - and yes this should also work with most other biome - though it wont add aurora's to them.
it would go something like: (verified 3/15)
1- Starscape install - http://community.playstarbound.com/...rscape-biomes-planets-sectors-and-stars.1046/
2- Variety install http://community.playstarbound.com/index.php?resources/variety-is-the-spice-of-the-universe-a-universe-biome-overhaul.199/
3- Variety/Starscape patch install : go to Variety page to find updated patch
5- Spacebound install
6- Variety/Spacebound patch install (if using)
VitsotU changes and patch:
This patch will allow my mod to effect biomes while using Variety. It also adds changes to some of Variety's original content biomes (from disabling clouds to creating completely new clouds).
Here it is. Working with v1.0.1.1 (remember to re-copy whenever variety updates)
http://www.mediafire.com/download/z3bke9vod2mbd8o/VitsotUpatch8.zip
Unzip as usual - when asked to merge folders or copy over files - allow or please do. Best done on a fresh install of Variety.

Mod Squad:
I would like to give a big shout out to all the Mod makers here! Thank you for inspiring (me to make this) and entertaining us! There are some amazing Mods out there.
While I am not a programmer or such I try my hardest to keep this compatible with as many mods and types of mods as possible.
The following is a list of mods I use myself - and know they are compatible with Spacebound. Coincidentally they are all compatible with each other, though some may need a compatibility patch! If you know of another mod that is compatible send me a PM or leave a message - and I might add it to the list.

These are all awesome mods and I'd suggest you check them out - many more mods will work with Spacebound also!
Note - usually the first time you start up Starbound with mods you may have to wait at the loading screen for a bit (the more mods the longer), after that though it is usually a lot faster.
Thanks again to the Modding community! It is full of good people whom can be very helpful, especially xxswatelitexx and Dracyoshi , for their tips and pointers.
For Your Consideration:
Installing this mod For beginners:
- click the main download link at the top. It's labeled Download Now and is top rightish.
- it will ask you what to do - save the file onto your computer. I suggest saving it to a easy to locate folder - I use a folder on my desktop labeled starboundmods.
- if the mod is on the large side for you - you may also download the mod in 3 separate parts. The links are in the version/links section. This allows you to only download a certain aspect of my mod if you so choose. Say you don't like the clouds and aurora - just download nav computer and nebulae then
- Once you have the files you want downloaded you are going to have to extract the actual data from the file. I use .zip compression - most computers can natively extract from this type of compressed file. Do this by either clicking to open the file up and then drag the folder you find inside (named Spacebound etc.) into the mods directory in your starbound folder. You can also right click and extract all then choose your starbound/mods location.
- now that you have it extracted to the right place - you are good to go - load the game up

Remember it is always a good idea (Sometimes essential) to delete existing older versions of mods you may have already installed - before you update to a new version!
Do you have a screenshot you would like to share and you use this mod - here is a post for you:

If I need to make a version for unstable - it will be posted here if I have the time
I'm trying to get most Aurora's to occur at night only - can't seem to find out how to do it yet???
Please if you have problems , find a bug, see some crazy looking stuff, PM me or leave a comment here:

- if you have a problem with 2.0
-is your captains chair bugging out? - nav computer just closes - Beam down to planet or home and back up or you can try save/exit and reload -
-you may also try backing up and then deleting your universe folder too if you keep getting an error and want a quick possible solution
If you have suggestions or any ideas or help - please leave a pm or go to forum post.
This is my first mod ever - bare with me on this adventure - thank you for your continued patience and support!!
