Bug/Issue [1.4] Extreme lagging in the mines with low health bar

Posting here as I'm on Linux, but it may be a more general issue of course.

Save started in 1.3. This is the first day I've played on 1.4.

A day of thunder so I went to the mines around noon. Started on level 70 and went down. Didn't notice at first, but at some point around level 80 I got a Prismatic Shard drop!! Woot. Ate a bit of food to help deal with foggy bat attack, and almost died (9 HP left). That meant the health bar was squirting blood every which way, which may be related here. This was around midnight, and suddenly the game started to lag like a mother-f. Thankfully I had gone to the top of mines at this point, so it wasn't terribly far back home. Manage to stumble to the mine cart and went to the bus stop, then stumbled back home and eventually got into bed.

I say stumble because the game had maybe one frame every 5 seconds, which meant that each time I moved I had to wait to see where I was, then move again, bumping into walls, fences and whatnot on the way.

The game still lagged when it did the end of day summary, but next day everything seems fine again. I'm therefore guessing it may have something to do with that blood squirting health bar.

Others will have to judge whether the error log is useful, but it does have something towards the end that looks ominous. The timeline is after the lagging started though, as it lagged fiercely in the top level of the mines and all the way back to bed.
    Code:

Attaching the save file too, though I don't know how easy it would be to reproduce given we start from scratch in the morning.

PS: I use only one mod: the UI Info Suite, hence why I have SMAPI installed.

Thank goodness I didn't die though, because that's the first Prismatic Shard I have ever gotten, and it must have come from the 0.05% chance from having gotten to the bottom level. Phew!! :)
