    I disagree with that first statement. The fewer CONFLICTING mods, sure, but if you are just using patching, it won't be nearly as unstable as it would be if someone installed both versions (which they very well might)

    Personally I doing this :
    1) Download NEW version of the mod I'm using
    2) delete old version (like whole folder of the mod, inside mod's folder)
    3) install/unzip new version of mod
    4) launch the game vith new mod version, and enjoy it
