What are the best moments that you had to play through? There might've been a few that I forgot, but the one that comes to mind is the scene in The Walking Dead Season 1 Episode 2 when Lee backs the cannibal lady up the stairs.

It was not a "best moment", but it was without doubt hilarious.

Couple of years ago I played S.T.A.L.K.E.R: Clear Sky, and I encountered a group of zombies for the first time. My initial reaction when they showed up was: "Oh boy, zombies? This should be easy." But then out of nowhere, these 8 zombies suddenly brandished rifles and mangled me before I could say hi! Afterwards I just sat there with no expression on my face so that my brain could comprehense what just happened, 5 seconds later I burst out in laughter.

For being brain-dead they sure were pretty good at plotting up a surprise attack.

Most of my fondest memories involve multiplayer, having other people there to scream and panic with is always fun.

One in particular happened during an Arma 3 operation with the group I commonly play with, they're very loose with discipline and hilarity ensues because of it.
During one op in particular we were told there was a nuclear device on our island and our job was to find and defuse it within two hours. Come the final fifteen minutes and we finally figure out where it is. As the information was spreading through the chain our squad leader made the executive decision to, "Rush it!" And so our seven-man squad took our ammo-dry APC and rammed into the compound, which just so happened to be full of Vipers, (Spec-Ops) we all panicked out of the vehicle and messily cleared the ramming-zone. A few stuck back to deal with the wounded, I was one of them, while the rest pushed on to find the nuke-toting transport truck. Apparently the ramming technique worked wonders because the rest of the compound was pretty empty.
After some arguing between our squad lead and command we were dropped a couple Prowlers (Lightweight Humvees) and loaded up, our squad lead and medic drove the nuke truck. The other squads caught up to us and we all started driving off towards the island's airfield where we were to be evacuated. The drive included speeds much too fast, shooting at eachother for kicks, and flipping the cars "accidentally." This is when we goofed. One of our helicopter pilots decided to test how close he could fly above the nuke-truck without hitting it, while it was moving. He lightly tapped it and exploded violently, but the truck was fine and kept on moving somehow, tough nuke.
The timer had been ticking and we had only a few minutes left. I have no clue what happened to the defuse order, I guess it turned into escape. The person running the op, Zeus, showed us mercy and spawned plenty of transport Blackfish, VTOLs. We took our sweet time getting in, I insisted on having my Prowler sling-loaded for style points, but I promptly received a bullet from the enemy troops that were closing in. There was more yelling over the radio and I woke up in the Blackfish to the sound of hysterical laughter. I peeked out a window and saw two Blackfish transports rubbing against each other as they flew. Just as the 'Mission Complete' screen came up both of them exploded and the laughter of everyone in the still-flying transport faded as the op closed.

There are many more stories with that group, they're a fun bunch.

One of my very favorite moments in a video game was the whole end of the forest. When I opened the door I didn't expect to see what I did it was awesome. All the way through that the story sort of came together as you realize what's happening.

In 2013 I was in a gaming clan that specialised on Battlefield 2: Project Reality Mod. If you played as Hamas on the israeli maps, you had the civilian class which was unarmed but could throw rocks, give hand signals and shouldn't be shot (but could be captured for intel). Long story short, we did a dance number (complete with dance music via mumble) on a russian server and I am fairly certain someone taped that, but I can't find the video. We got run over by a tank though.

My personal wow moments were the first time i went to space in Freelancer, my early War Thunder simulator days, and pretty much all of Dark Souls. The mileage i got from these is ridiculous.

As for actual moments, one time in Arma 3 exile, we got to a supply crate drop, i had just died so i was naked and thus expendable, i went first and had just reached the crate when my friend who stayed back saw guys in an armored car coming, so i hid behind a nearby concrete barrier and the car stopped literally 2m from me and the guys inside got out and i got in and drove away while screaming like an angry pterodactyl.

lol once an APC tried to run me over but i was lying down so the wheels didn't touch me and i lived.

Veeeeeery good taste in games, my friend. I wish official servers would still be a thing, then I might just buy it again (lost my disc).

My best moment if from Super Meat Boy.

So it was almost midnight and next day I had to wake up at 5am, because I had a very important exam. After the whole day of studying I decided to chill a bit and beat one, maybe two levels in Super Meat Boy before going to sleep. And the wprst thing imaginable happened - I discavered a Warp Zone that unlocks The Kid. It was one of the most ungodly difficult things I've ever played, all the while with a thought that I absolutely NEED to go to sleep asap. But I was determined - I wouldn't do it again, it was now-or-never. It took me one and a half hour, but I did it and it was the biggest moment of relief in my entire life.

I passed that test somehow and celebrated by playing more Meat Boy.

For me, just playing several games such as both Bad Company games and both Portal games were just "the best moment". The dialog in all 4 of them had me smiling almost constantly.
For recent games, the moment I was finally done with Space Marine was the best moment in the game for me too. I got it on sale to find out how bad it was and well, the SP campaign was... interesting...?
Also mfw in dawn of war 2 my brother sends in Tarkus to tank everything for me to then orbital strike his bald head without him dying due to skill abuse.

Also as for if video games are art, well.
    Yes and no.
Some games look really good and some don't. For instance:
Dark Souls is art, which leaves you questioning what sick mind could come up with that.
Garry's Mod is sort of art because it allows you to do everything you want, only limited by your creativity (and the engine)
Half-Life 2 is art because for no game ever has anyone waited this long for a sequel to a game that's obviously not yet finished.
Portal and Portal 2 is art because the dialogue is, well, art.
Air Control is art because never before had man seen such an abomination (short of the old E.T. game perhaps)
POSTAL 2 is art because never has a game created so much controversy. (Short of GTA maybe)
I could go on and on.
