What people think of you? Trust- effects persuasion attempts. Like- how much a person enjoys your company/what they're willing to do for you. enables favors and romance quest lines. Respect- based on what they've heard some people automatically think that you got guts, or no spine. effects small details like trade and favors. admiration- people hear what you've done and freeze in awe. also effects trade and favors. Hatred- the measure of how much people despise you or even want you gone. the higher this is the higher chance a person will do something about it. Fear- the level of intimidation you have on people. scared people can be intimidated into doing favors. wow, that was a lot for one day. I think I might be tapped out for a while. remember to quote and give opinions.
Sweet mother of god... If this is a mod, it's going to be a very deep in depth, and almost game changing mod. Not to mention massive with all the content
Soo many ideas, are you planning on making this a mod? Or let the devolpers find this? Either way we need this to get way more popular. -------------------------------------- Also I have an idea for a faction, Drozolian empire: a coherently communist society with a slight oppressive nature to races that are not their own. They are conquerers of planets, and they are oppressive while they try to replace the planets settlements current form government with their own.while most Drozolians are poor, they are satisfied with the higher pay in jobs encouraging work, the current highest paying job in this society is the military. Dolozians Find the arena barbaric and are not interested. The conquered: any society unfortunate enough to be in the way of the Drozolians. They almost always try resisting the oppressive government forced upon them, usually with little success. Although many will revolt, some will accept the new government with open arms. Mixed feelings on the arena The refugees: anyone trying to flee, while most are just brought up as "Filth". Occasionaly someone flees bearing military secrets. Those ones are either hunted down and imprisoned, or executed. Hates the arena So which side will you choose?
The Refugees. I like both helping out, and being praised for heroic deeds! and I almost certainly will have other races implemented, but that'll be update 2. update one will be getting all this stuff implemented in the first freaking place. DOES ANYBODY KNOW A TRUSTWORTHY MODDING TEAM!?!?!?!
Eh, I have plenty of time to kill...I could help out. Also any ideas how I can make people have trouble deciding what part of the faction to choose. As in giving them a difficult choice, giving them advantages, etc. because if it is JUST pure moral choices, that may get a little annoying....just saying
well it would be moral but you'd have benefits. for example, you'd probably make a decent wage acting as security for hylotl refugees. then again you could just as easily turn them over to the canopy clan for a huge and quick pay. but in the process you'd be sending a literal boat load of innocent civilians to be eaten, killed, or forced to work. can you really sleep at night knowing that your responsible for death?
Well I mean, they are just pixels, so I don't think it would bother me as much as acually doing that. But yeah I understand what you are saying though giving pay over morals, but why not also have a little more things to allow you to be a giant space douche
one, language man. and two, notice the various aspects from the previous post. Look at Blackbeard. the guy was actually mostly an actor. he used special powder to make it look like his face was shrouded in smoke, and even drank freaking gunpowder. between that and the fact he was like, 6 foot 5, coupled with his notorious reputation, nobody would even look at him they were so scared! the point is whatever you do somehow it will be heard of. maybe a little, maybe a lot. but there will always be consequence. sometimes there won't even be a right or wrong, just a this or that. like when SPOILER ALERT you have to choose to save either Ashley or Kaiden in mass effect one.
Sorry about that. I forgot about the rules sometimes... But your point about intimidation is quite intriguing. But about blackbeard, he didn't use powder, he acually burnt fuses in his beard, (sorry I had to say this, the historian inside of me gets upset over inaccuracies) but back to topic, The idea of allowing myself to be famous or infamous is great and can't wait for more ideas And here is another sugestion, how about timed quests? I know they can be sometimes tedious and annoying. But it can be used for prioritizing quests. It could also keep the game interesting too.
"War is hell. that's certain. the only question is who's the devil?" -me, July 20th, 2014. here's the aim of this update: Methods of war and the cost. side note (war won't be the only way to take over cities and planets. everyone has their price, and opinions can be swayed.) in WWI the Germans were pioneers of many new forms of weaponry. though they were effective they often shed a negative light on their users. after all who could look at flame-throwers, Bombing zeppelins, and Chlorine Gas and not be mildly set off? say that you have decided to make your own faction and have secured almost every key point on a planet. all that stands in the way of your unquestioned rule is a single city state. they've dug in but good with row after row of trenches, turrets for every unit type, and vehicular support. not to mention they're set upon a hill and have walls that are 50 feet tall and 10 feet thick. there are three ways you can go about this. 1- Total zerging. (close enough) you assemble an army of staggering quantity in both soldiers and equipment. your plan is simple. hurl every last freaking gun you have at anything that even looked at you funny until the city is a half burnt ruin, owned by you. 2- precise and careful strategy. you spend hours, nay, days at your desk stooped over a large map of the city and it's surrounding areas with nothing but a marker an a box of figurines. finally your plotting comes to pass and action falls upon your forces! can you play smart enough to keep your army intact? or will this game of chess end with all your pieces off the board? 3- annihilation. From gas attacks and flaming assaults to the unholy hum of a bomber fleet you turn this city upside down until there's nothing left standing. some may call you tyrannical and cruel, but then again, their not the new owners of a city are they? as always, if you enjoyed please like this comment and even thread, and remember to put in your input. we wouldn't have gone so far without the ideas and critiquing of thread watchers like you!
As funny as bum rushing the enemy, I still prefer annihilation. Because sometimes planning get boring, and what's not to love when going full nuclear on a planet...
well think of the world wars. once America realized how bad things were they stepped in and started steamrolling. sometimes unwanted attention is all it takes for a persons downfall.
and now, time for the other two methods of taking over planets. (note, marriage is not included because it's a one time deal, and remarrying would mean you lose the right to your previous spouses planets.) (extra note, colors do not represent morality this time) Option one: money makes the world go round... for you. You are the ultimate tradesman, and because of this you have been able to start a company and lead it to booming success! but now you want more than a high rise office. time to empty out your corporate piggy bank and go planet shopping! Factors in planet price: #1- size: a large planet would obviously cost more than a tiny one. #2- biome: a lush forest or agriculturally ideal plain would have a few more digits than a barren badlands or molten volcanic world. #3- relation: time to redeem your favors and remind people of the good times. the more people like you the more flexible they'll be with the price. #4- purchase requests: want to tell every last planet resident to take a hike or have areas cleared/places built? you can but expect price rises. sometimes they won't even agree to your requirements in the first place! Option two: puppetry you pluck lesser leaders amongst corporations and clans out of the gutter and propel them to success. in exchange they float a percentage of their funds your way every once in a while and use their influence for your gain. be warned though that they might jut sell you out once they hit the top. you can always just pick another person to replace them, but now they'll know what to watch out for. And that concludes today's idea dump. please like if you enjoyed and remember to comment!
One question, what about the ability to send in spies to collect info and do other things, like incite revolutions
