Bug/Issue Can't Activate Early Game Cutscenes as Farmhand

I've been on my friend's save for an in-game year now, and i haven't been able to use the community center, the adventurers guild, and the wizards tower, because the early-game cutscenes won't activate for me, is it because i'm not the host?, I've met everybody besides the wizard (even kent), is there any way i can activate these cutscenes so i can use them? even if it involves cheats?
