Can't Extend Tram Far Enough

I've got a long elevator shaft to where my work station will be in my station. The problem is I can't get the wires to extend far enough by a few tiles to connect the stops, and so I can't summon from one to another. The tram itself can move up and down fine, but only manually. While that alone is suitable, I was hoping there would be a solution to this issue. Screenshots below show the area I'm trying to reach, and as you can see, it's quite the reach. The game crashed before I could take the second, so I respawned on my ship and picked up the glow visible on the 2nd and 3rd screenshots.
