I did not say I liked the fingerprint-well i kindia do but i dont wanna see THAT in the game(well i also kindia do)-but i do like the other ones.
I'd like to hear other peoples opinions on it. and besides, I'm doing this because Robots cant have hair. in fact... thats my new status. excuse me for a moment.
I love the contrasting colors in the dual-striped ones, and the spiral thumbprint ones look pretty neat!
bear in mind that that's only with one Body color. I'm going off of a "Slider" color approach, with one slider each for "Body", "Eyes", and "Hair" currently. and before you ask, don't expect to see anything patterned down onto the legs unless its similar to the thumbprint, where I don't have to pay attention to "what am I going over". the whole 'leg' area just confuses me when I try to figure out where the legs+feet separate pixel-by-pixel. currently working on a bit of a "custom" avatar for myself crash and burn, but then I'll try out some of the other patterns I showed off. who knows, I might be able to expand the "art" section by a ton, if people like them.
That's were they are supposed to be separated. The white line is on the lowest pixel point on the leg.
a misunderstanding occurs! I don't mean leg-to-foot. I mean, on the sprite... left-leg-and-foot to right-leg-and-foot. ah well, it doesn't really bother me.
Oh, sorry about that. Actually, the Clara'an's actual right leg overlaps it's left leg by exactly 6 pixels horizontally. At least as far as I can tell; before I make large changes to my sprites, I save the previous version for reference.
at its widest point, the entire leg structure is 16 pixels. are you saying that starting from the right (MY right. as in, my right hand side), going over 6 pixels is the end of the left leg as visible in the sprite?
Yes, but it is only the actual leg, for that does not count the increased total length if you include the rest of the left (Right hand side) foot, which would add an additional 4 pixels in width if uncovered. The dark line between the legs is actually the front side the right (Left Hand Side) leg, in case you didn't know, even though you probably did.
yeah, I've got it now. that means I can add 2 new files to my "bodyparts" folder alright, thanks Kint. as for the rest of you- seriously, if I'm going to be making more patterns, I need suggestions. Rust is not a suggestion. it is a disease.
i like the new sprites they add a lot of flavor.the spiral one is cool. and the one with the heart on the side of his head looks awesome. should put some more designs on the side like that. there version of "tattoos"
alright... I'm probably going to be working on some large samples of artwork tomorrow/today. They'll probably involve all 6 patterns I showed off earlier, as well as showing off a handful of different eye colours that I haven'shown yet. I don't really know what else to say about it, except that its an idea I came up with at a time that qualifies it for the "midnight-sprite" folder. I'll leave you with that.
so, should I add this to the Original Post? What do you guys think of being able to see some different color-combos outside of your head? Does anyone have any pattern suggestions that I might be able to do?Past here, I really have nothing to do, except for doodling in Paint.net or writing up some additional "short stories".
For a pattern, perhaps a circuitry pattern with a darker color around it, much like in the Tron movies.
I'm trying to keep myself in the emply of just "two" colors, body and pattern, but I'll see if I can't cobble something together.
I hope these robots know Binary Code, if they do then they can communicate with the Conservatrix Algorithm
I'd imagine that Binary, or the Starbound Equivalent, would be known in full by any machine- even sentient ones
I don't entirely like the fingerprints, but I could see them being utilized in a procedural generation manner, that way every finger print one has, a different 'print' Like spindas from pokemon Also reading the fun facts Rookie red is the red shirt from star trek isn't it? Or is it mauve?
on the spiral/fingerprint design : apparently there are a few people out there that REALLY like it. that and I discovered that when I took the pattern and used it as a "Spray-Paint Guide"... I really liked it. as for Rookie Red- I just wrote that down... I've yet to decide on an actual tone, but I'm thinking of just saying "All Clara'an are, off the production line, the default red viewed in the examples (non-metallic), without any pattern. This has caused all coats of Red in that particular shade without a visible pattern to be referred to as 'Rookie Red' by any Clara'an which has been given permission to leave its Factory of Origin freely". In fact... that sounds good. I wonder if I should tweak it at all....
