Because I'm a huge nerd I wanted to use a mod that changed some of the monsters and animals in the game into cute girls instead. Unfortunately no one has made that yet, so I figured that I would. I'm not the greatest pixel artist in the world but I tried, and I think they came out pretty cute and still fitting with the games art style. So far I've done the slimes and all the chicken variations. I'll probably keep doing all the farm animals next, then maybe take a look at some of the others monsters or something and decide if I wanna change those. To install: copy the xnb files for the animals (including pets) into "SteamApps\common\Stardew Valley\Content\Animals" For the slimegirls, copy the xnb into "SteamApps\common\Stardew Valley\Content\Characters\Monsters" 4/22: Added remaining farm animals. 3/28: Added mummy replacer 3/21: Fixed missing chickens in the animal girls 3/21: Added Goat, Duck, and Big Slime replacers, repacked everything to be a bit neater 3/18: Updated cowgirl sprites, added installation instructions. MORE UPDATE: Now with 100% more cowgirl, in both color variations! ANOTHER UPDATE: Added the dog girl, packed both her and the catgirl into one zip so you can just replace both pets at once. UPDATE: fixed the catgirl, I'd uploaded the wrong thing like a dunce.
oh wow, these look great. those chickens are adorable. can't wait to see your designs for the others.
Next one is finished! A catgirl, for all your catgirl needs. Also because I realized that I should totally do pet replacers first, since everyone has a pet. Had to get a friend to test it since I have a dog, so if anyone notices any issues, let me know.
So I put the cat.xnb into "...\steamapps\common\Stardew Valley\Content\Animals" and all it shows ingame are vertical bars and occasionally 4 generic but non-vanilla brown cats in different poses. Is the file broken or did I do it wrong? The slimes work for me.

had to edit my save just to switch from dog to cat because of this. the sleeping/lazing around sprite is too cute. now i'm worried i'll be editing it every day when you release the dog!

aaaaand dog-girl is up! removed the download for the catgirl and just pet them together for convenience. If you just wanna replace one or the other for some reason then you can always just use only one of the files. I'm gonna keep grouping them together like this as I finish more of them, just to keep things neat.

not any time soon at least, the farmer sprite sheet is understandably massive and confusing, so it would be a ton of work not really something I'm that interested in anyway, and I'm mostly just making these for myself
It'd be nice if there were mods to turn some heroines into monster/animal girls. This game could benefit a lot from being a little less Harvest Moon and a little more Rune Factory.
