Bug/Issue Damaged Character File while playing in multiplayer

Playing on my server, the server hung while loading a new world. It eventually kicked all players (stating inactivity) and started functioning again but one of my players discovered that he had lost his weapon and had been granted character abilities that he did not have prior to the kick. He also had his quest progress reset to the starting quest to open the portal, but he is unable to do so as he has already done it. I'm going to have him try restoring a character backup when he returns, and I will report on what progress this makes
