    While launching a server, i noticed that there's a dancedatabase.

    What does this entail? Is it safe to dance? Can we dance if we want to?

    It means that you've got to leave your friends behind, because if your friends don't dance then they're no friends of mine.

    Dances in Starbound, if I am remembering correctly, refer to body poses changes for NPCs. Examples include NPCs leaning down to warm their hands by a fire, or actually dancing when they find a jukebox.
