Bug/Issue Endless error dialogs on quit

So I've been having a problem for as long as I've played the game, since Irritated Koala or thereabouts, where every time I quit and save...I'd get error dialog boxes popping up. That was fine for the most part since it only happened on quitting and the game was still being worked on, but I stopped playing for a few months and just recently started again. Now, when I quit and save, I get the same kind of crashy error dialog box but clicking ok or close just spawns a new dialog box. Endlessly. The only way to get it to stop is to kill the entire program. It's quite annoying.
It doesn't matter which version I use, regular or opengl, 64 or non. Always endless error dialogs on quit.
The rest of the game is otherwise mostly fine, barring some performance quality issues.
Windows 7 Enterprise 64bit, English, plenty of ram and otherwise old-but-okay specs.
