Modding Help Error with Mat Id 62976 Whose got it?

    Alright, so a few friends of mine were playing, and two of us can no longer get to certain portions of a planet. Our friend doesn't have any different mods than us, so I'm looking to find out whose Material ID this is, that way I can install the mod to finally get access to this planet. I've already consulted with the "https://starbounder.org/Modding:Materials:Mods" webpage looking for answers, and I've googled the ID god knows how many times. Please assist. I've looked, I've searched and can't seem to find it. I just want to be able to go to my friends "base planet". I'm not too concerned about just having to install a mod to fix it. Thanks in advance for anyone who can find the answer.

    Attached is the error, which only says material exception no such material(mat id 62976)

    EDIT: Also, here's the pastbin entering the world. There's a game crash that happens AFTER the mat id problem, but thats a different issue. That's an issue with the home screen that sometimes just doesnt even want to load the game. Different issue though.

    I know that it is not my mod (uses tile ids around 6900), but I would advise that you try removing one mod at a time until you remove one and the game then works. After that you would report the issue to the mod author. It can be tedious, especially if you use a huge amount of mods, but it works.

    I use 11 mods. My friend and I have verified ours and his wifes all as being the same, including the workshop folder for starbound. We've both had fresh installs, and I've already tried the disabling one after the next to see what works. It didn't take long. Had no fix unfortunately. Thank you for your suggestion.

    The issue is likely some one had a mod with the material and it removed when the planet was generated.

    If there is nothing important on the planet I suggest just deleting the planet on the host computer
    Starbound \ storage \ universe

    the file name is x _ uuid _ y
    So find the coordinates of the planet from your ship, then look at the file name and delete it.

    ( make sure no one is on the planet before you do, everyone shoudl go back to their ships )
    Then just visit the planet again and it will repopulate.

    If it happens again though it does mean one of the mods is using a bad texture ID and there really no easy way to find out which mod without opening up all the mods and looking for that specific id. Or looking at reviews for all the mods to see if anyone has similar problems.

    So my friends entire base, is right at the spawn area of the planet. To get the rest of us off the planet, we had to cut that planet from the universe folder, get the rest to login and leave planet, then return the file to the folder so he could have his base back. All three of us used a fresh install on both mods and starbound, so it's not something we had, but now don't. We ensured the workshop folder for starbound was cleared before install, and matched after.
    If there wasn't anything important, we would have just deleted and then went elsewhere, but it's a pretty large collection of a base.

    I've already spent several days off and on scrubbing for this mat id. And since we can't spawn something via mat id, not able to easily figure out what it is. Thanks for your suggestions though.

    You can't put the file back.
    That file is the file with the issue.

    That is like saying We had a stinky sock in the room.
    We took the sock out of the room, came back put the sock back and the room still smells!

    I understand putting it back keeps the issue for two of us, but we ain't just going to let a month's worth of work just go down the drain without putting up a fight to try and recover it. It's not a big deal for two of us to not be able to visit our friends base, the guy can still access it so we just avoid it. We pulled his resources to his ship for sharing, but that's only a tempo solution. I can't help him with wiring without showing him on my stuff or whatever, or him using a test area with me there. We want to find the mat Id texture, and fix it for the rest of us, not remove it and hope we don't find it again. What if I go down to my planet and it shows up broken there? Ain't gunna delete it. Gonna look for solution. Thanks for the reminder though.

    The problem is that MatID texture could be from a previous mod that was uninstalled but the planet was made prior to it.

    Also because there is no hard and fast rule on ID textures - multiple mods could share the same ID #. As a work around in theory you could make a mod with that id texture but - unless that texture has all the same number of frames you will keep having issues.

    In most cases most mod makers use the exact same as vanilla game.

    I understand the "could be previously installed mod" but we all did fresh installs, and they only downloaded exactly what I provided to them in the workshop. The game was never loaded without the 11 mods we installed already there for each of us. Checked workshop folders prior to, to verify, and then installed. So I'm trying to find whose it is, so I can try to find a solution from that. I need anything that someone has for the mod and I've exhausted what I could think of, besides those last resort. We want to fix the problem, not cover it up and hope we don't dig another grave and find it. Creating a mod with its Id is a possibility but I don't know how to do that. I'll learn how to if I need too, and I appreciate the option.

    If anyone has anything else, please do give me options. I've tried so many, without a solution. I'll have to look into the new mod/mat id thing and see what I get. Thanks again in advance.

    I can tell you how to find out which mod has the dodgy mat id.

    Notepad++

    Select find in files. Search string is :
    Code:
    "materialId" : 62976
    Make it search your entire starbound directory, and have each player do it. It WILL tell you where that mod ID is hiding, even inside a pak file.

    If the mat ID doesn't exist in your current setups - make a quick mod to add it for all players.

    Stops you losing the base.

    I checked my own just in case, but I was having issues getting the pack to load the info. I'll try again, and when I get it sorted, I'll get my friend to search it as well. Thank you for the string as to what to search it'll Def help having the exact search reqs. I'll take a look when I get off work later. Ill still have to look into the quick mod stuff later as well, as someone else suggested as well. Big thanks for the line. I'll see what I can find and I'll get back to this forum later.

    Fresh install doesn't matter - because the data is stored in that planet file.
    Again it is same as my previous analogy.

    It is like replacing all the items in the stinky room.
    But keeping the stinky sock.

    Update: Tried checking everyones mod files and vanilla files. No trace of the mat id 62976. Attempted to create a tile mod to replace a tile with the new mat id and received error of

    [Error] Application: exception thrown, shutting down: (MapException) Key 'ö' not found in Map::get()

    That being said, I think I incorrectly created the mod seeing as I couldn't "/spawnitem" the mod tile i created. However, we were able to move a bit further on the World in question, but I need to work on the mod tile a little bit more to get it to function correctly. Which I'll have to get to tomorrow or the next day. Being able to visit just a little bit more than before was nice though. Even if my mod didn't 100% work, it still partially allowed us to explore. I'll have to finish it up, troubleshoot, and do more with it to see what I get. If anyone was wondering, I took a base file from vanilla changed name and applicable info in the file as well as the mat id, its associated .png and created metadata, etc to create the mod. now I'm not familiar with JSON too much, but after having done all the work, i stumbled on another post regarding "Tiled" and it included some info that I might be able to use. If anyone has any suggestions on creating a tile for use, please provide me with some useful information, and I'll do what I can to implement it. If someone was to just create the mod and send it my way, that'd be even easier. Lol. I'm not looking for a hand-out though, but I would graciously accept one. I'll get back to working on it soon enough, but work keeps me busy. Thanks again guys. Thanks slowcold

    It didnt spawn for me still... T.T but I still got the same error again. I can just unzip and use it in the "mods" folder correct? It recognizes it and runs, but i cant spawn item for some reason. I tried packing it via steam workshop mod upload and still didn't function for me sadly. Here's the specific crash error again.

    Thank you very much for your assistance again. I'm rather busy tonight, only had enough time to quickly check that out, and then get back too working and other important tasks. T.T Going to post my log in case someone has any idea what else could be the issue with the MapException. i know theres an error that crashes at the "Main Menu" but that problem was happening before the 62976 issue. I dont have a fix yet for the crash on start, but it's inconsistent and just loading the game a couple times fixes it. Only pops up at start menu.

    That error occurs the exact same time FU is initialized.
    Might have been an asset in the mod they removed

    I'll have a peek. Got some old versions of FU on my external drive - I'll see if the mat ID is in there. Don't recall any mats being changed though.

    Edit: I've checked through the 4 oldest FU installs I have (starts at 5.027) and nothing with that mat ID. Sorry.

    FU error is not related to the Mat ID
    The FU error is due to it searching for a missing asset that it can't find.

    Map Get error has nothing to do with physical maps.
    But Code Diagramatic maps.

    It is searching for a specific variable in the Db - and what ever it is searching for can't be found.
