Game closing right after first loading screen

    I'm having a bit of a problem with getting starbound working- I've been fighting with it for a while now.

    Every time I try to launch the game it seems to crash after the initial loading screen (the spinning symbol thingy). I have re-installed the game many times, and tried both the standard version and the 32- bit as well. Nothing seems to work.
    I don't have any mods or anything, these are fresh installs.

    I'm running windows 10, if that's relevant. plz halp!
