game crash on character load (CTD)

    Recently i tried playing starbound but every time i try to load my main character the game just crashes, the crash log makes no sense and i have never installed any mods on this save.

    Crash log:

    [21:33:58.181] [Error] Application: exception thrown, shutting down: (IOException) read error 23

    This line seems to be the cause of the crash but i have yet to find a similar problem on the internet.
    Any help would be appreciated since i don't want to lose this save i've spent hours playing on.

    It looks like your playerfile got corrupted last time you played the game. If you don't have a backup then this character might be completely broken and you might have to start a new character.
