Bug/Issue Game Crashes at Random Cut Scenes and Venue Changes

i have an iphone SE, 85 of 128 GB used, and the latest version of Stardew Valley. after i’ve played for a while, quite often, the game will lag and subsequently crash when loading a new place or a cut scene, like it’s overloaded or something. when i reboot it and then do the same thing, it works fine, but i usually have to start the day completely over. it’s got me feeling like groundhog day up in here. i can see in the version history that the last update was a year ago; should i just deal with it? or can i maybe hope for a bug fix in the future?
