Closed Game crashes on startup

    Whenever I try to run the game- with or without steam open, in OpenGL or not, with the universe/player files deleted, etc etc-- I get the following errors before the game even opens.

    I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the game, but then it just gave me a DIFFERENT error:

    Sorry if this has been answered already, or if it's something really obvious, but I couldn't find anything that helped.

    The only stickied post in that forum contains the solution to your problem.
