Bug/Issue Game would't start (suspected sound required)

I don't know if this is the proper place to report a bug. But I tried everything to start the game after it had worked fine before, everything from restarting computer, reinstalling drivers, reinstalling frameworks and direct x, and even the game itself and reinstalling steam, the game still wouldn't start, but all my other games would... until.. i tried starting my fallout 3 game.. and it said it couldn't run because I didn't have any sound device hooked up and that the game required sound.
I realized that was the only thing different with my computer since I had last played Stardew Valley, I plugged my headphones into the computer and like magic, the game started just fine.
So just in case this is a sound required game, perhaps the game could say before you try to load it that sound is required to launch it, or make it so it can be played without sound.
