Bug/Issue Haley 8 heart event?

First post!!
So, I've been romancing Haley for about a year, and got to 8 hearts with her, and I know that going to Marnie's cottage will trigger an event with her, but I was wondering, does this only trigger in spring? It's winter right now and I went to Marnie's cottage but she wasn't there. I'd hate to wait (I'm halfway through winter) to get the event :c
I have the latest update and etc, so just wondering if this is a bug or I have to wait.
