Modding Help Help! New at modding and need help making a custom species

Hello, I am new to the modding scene ... And I need help making a functioning species mod. I should probably note I am an artist at heart and programming is difficult for me. Any help would be appreciated thanks.

P.S. I also would like to make monster and biome mods or possibly a dungeon mod. Any help would be wonderful.

I have a question, also thanks for the help my question is how do I make a custom ship using your race template, or do I need something else?

 

If you are keeping the same structure then all you need to do is to directly replace the images with your own. If you are changing the structure then you will need to edit yourraceT1blocks.pngs aaand possibly the .structure files.

 

Thanks a million friend, I think I can handle drawing new ship images with a similar structure to the current ones. I am drawing new art for everything but I was wondering so once again I am grateful for the help. Keep being awesome!
