I thought I'd do the math to show how crazy the endgame stuff can get. Here is the most gold you can make for the minimum of effort. This plan only requires maintenance (harvesting, watering, planting, adding to kegs etc) one day per week, and uses only the greenhouse, two sheds, and a cellar. Only the sheds take up any growing space (21 spaces each) meaning that this plan will take up 42 squares.

Obviously, this would take a lot of prep time, but once everything is set up you're rolling in gold for the rest of your life.

Step one: Plant 116 ancient seeds and 6 iridium sprinklers in the greenhouse. Position the sprinklers like this so they cover every plant but only take up 4 planting spaces. It may take you a while of harvesting and using seed makers to get 116 plants, but luckily ancient fruit plants don't disappear when you harvest so even one seed per fruit is a 200% increase in plants.

Step two: Buy two sheds and fill them with 58 kegs each. The optimal shed layout allows for 66 easily accessible machines, as seen here.

Step three: Upgrade your house until you have a cellar. Place 116 casks inside. The optimal cellar layout allows for 125 accessible casks, as seen here.

Step four: First ancient fruit harvest. You will have 116 ancient fruit. Assuming they're all standard quality (550g each) they would sell for 63,800g. That's an impressive chunk of change, but we're not going to sell these puppies yet.

Step five: Put your 116 ancient fruit into your kegs. In seven days, they will produce you ancient fruit wine. Conveniently, 7 days is also how long it takes for your ancient fruit plants to bloom again.

Step six: Second ancient fruit harvest. Collect your 116 wine and put your 116 new ancient fruit into your kegs. Your 116 ancient fruit wine, at standard quality (1,650g each) would sell for 191,400g. But we're still going to hang onto these. We're going to put them in the 116 casks in your cellar. In 8 weeks, (or 2 seasons or 56 days) they will become iridium quality ancient fruit wine.

Step seven: The Cycle. We now enter a perpetual 8 week cycle which can sustain itself throughout any season or weather. During the first 7 weeks, we sell our ancient fruit wine at standard quality for the 191,400g/week (27,342g/day). For all seven weeks we total 1,339,800g.

Step seven b: The last week is where we really make some money. On the eighth week of the cycle, the casks will be finished working and spit out their product of iridium quality ancient fruit wine. At 3,300 gold each, 116 of these sell for 382,800. That's 54,685 per day of this past week.

In total, this 8 week cycle nets 1,722,600 gold. 215,325 gold per week. 30,760 gold per day.

This is, of course, assuming that you don't have the artisan perk. The artisan perk increases value of artisan goods like wine by 40%, which makes your profit 2,411,640 gold per 8 weeks, 301,455 per week, and 43,064 per day.

There you have it. 30 (or 43) thousand gold per day, using only a greenhouse, two sheds, and a cellar. Working only one day per week.

Please let me know if I've made any errors in my calculations!

Well I'm in Year 10 and I have 370 Crystalariums on my farm (this prep takes waaaay more effort and farming for resources than what you listed here). I also have 122 Statues of Endless Fortune which generate either 1x Gold Bar, 1x Iridium Bar, 1x Diamond or 1x Omni Geode and they all seem to produce it at a 25% rate. I get an average of 30x Iridium Bars (which each sell for 1,000g), Diamond sells for 750g each, Gold Bar is 250g each and Omni Geode a flat 0g (and not worth the effort to break open at the blacksmith and selling the minerals extracted from them).

My Crystalariums will produce 277,500 gold every 5 days or 55,500 gold every day. And then adding in 30 average Iridium Bars I make about 85,000 gold every day.

I used to do Ancient Fruits and Kegs. I had 10 Deluxe Barns with up to 1,050 Kegs and had just over 2,100 Ancient Fruits watered by Iridium Sprinklers and harvested with Junimo Huts. It got very tedious to refill the kegs and yes it does generate tons of gold but it was soooooo boring after a couple years.

I plan on doing Statues of Endless Fortune and Crystalariums for my end-endgame layout but will take many many in-game years. The rest of the farm is laid out with 623 Bee Houses, planting Blue Jazz in Spring, Poppy is Summer and Fairy Rose in Fall.

I'm walking on the same way, but I'm on my first year xD but I already have 27 crystalarium, I plan to create rabbits (since they have zero effort to maintain) and I will report how this will turn out.

          ...30x1000 + 30x750 + 30x250, or around 60k per day.
          You spent 122 MILLION gold.
To make 60k gold per day.
It will take over 2 THOUSAND days.
          72 seasons.
          18 years.
          Before you break even.
The standard game lasts 2 years.

          Please think about this.

You were talking about endgame and those are endgame statistics. I'm well past the standard game and I don't ever plan to break even. My goal is to lay out as many Statues of Endless Fortune on the farm or hit 1 billion gold in Overall Earnings.

Oh no! Someone's posted a thread about how to make 30,000 g/day working from home! It must be one of those pyramid scheme spambots! I'm going to panic and call the authorities!

Sorry. The title of your thread was too good to resist making the joke, given what can sometimes pop up on forums.

I can help any farm make 50,000g a day. Just pm me 29.95 plus postage.

Seriously though; ancient fruit wine is stupid valuable. Even as a Rancher my greenhouse winery makes me 156k a week.

If you do put a little more effort than Ancient Fruit (because the fruit respawns on a plant and does not have to be resowed), Starfruit is more valuable but you do have to re-sow the seeds every harvest. Too bad you can't stick a Junimo Hut inside the Greenhouse.

Starfruit takes 13 days to mature. Unless you have the Artisan perk it doesn't outvalue ancient fruit wine enough to make the additional work worth the effort. You either make 2x 1650 for two weeks off ancient fruit wine or 2250 for two weeks off of starfruit that you have to plant again.

While we are discussing the pointless task of "raising insane amounts of money for no purpose", let me just add that last night I proved that the "cash on hand" counter cycles back to zero when you get to 100 million.

Your options screen ("E" key) still shows the correct figure, but the counter at the top right (the one that displays all the time) resets.

When you spend enough to go back under the limit is it accurate or has it overflowed the variable?

If gold is handled as a regular signed integer then you will see serious problems around 2bil gold.
If it's a 64 bit variable you will never see an overflow, at least before the heat death of the universe.

You seem to believe that this isn't a tactic that isn't already widely known... it just is inefficient these days.

Peach/Pomegranate trees produce almost twice the profit per square as ancient fruit.

Ancient Fruit, assuming Artisan (because let's face it, if you are doing this, you've GOT Artisan) produces 330 g/d (2,310 per week / 7) per square.

                            Peach/Pomegranate produces 588g/d.

Hops produces 450/d, meaning even Hops gives you almost an extra 50% RoI. It would be as if every single wine came out automatically gold-star.

Ancient Fruit has been relegated to 'filler fruit' since you can't walk through trees or trellis. Of course, because you're only growing roughly 30 ancient fruit, you can Cask half of that instead of an eighth, for no reduction in aged wine output.

After the Great Fruit Nerf of 1.1, 116 Ancient Fruit became the sub-optimal choice from a profit per day perspective. Before then, this is what everyone was already doing. Your numbers are nothing new, you're just losing roughly 200k gold per week by being lazy.

I like my Rancher. With the mod fix to animals I'm making 1.3 million a season off of them. The greenhouse is just extra on top of that. I'm too lazy for hops or starfruit after taking care of animals all day. Labor of love for me because loading barrels is boring. Once a week is about right.

I don't even play the game to make max profit, I just like having a farm family and being a potato farmer (even though it's only one season) like my great grandparents before me lol.

Though after joining the forums and seeing all the effort people go through just to make all the monies makes me want to create another file just for this sole purpose.

@nevyn21 , yeah the counter resets and does not add an extra digit to the counter. And if you spend back under 100 million gold the counter does accurately represent the number under 100 million gold. I decided holding over 100 million gold wasn't really doing anything so I spent 75% of it on Statues.... because face it, once you've bought everything that's pretty much the gold sink in this game.

Actually, there's a more efficient 8-week money maker using Ancient Fruits. It's a similar process - 116 ancient fruit, then turn that into wine, and then keep it in a cask for just one week to get it to silver star quality. Repeat that same process every week - Harvest, wine, silver star - and you get a total of 2,679,136 in 8 weeks. That's 267,496 more than your idea. (On a side note - it's simpler and space efficient to use a max barn instead of two sheds.

EDIT: This is using the Artisan profession numbers.

Wow... two year necropost. Way to go...

Also, you'll only be able to process roughly half of your wine because silver star takes TWO weeks to get to silver star quality, not one. Still a pretty decent deal, overall, you get roughly one eighth more cash, which at these levels may be considered substantial.

A more efficient way of doing roughly the same thing is to run the setup with 30x fruit trees (peach or pomegranate), 74 Hops, and 30 Ancient Fruit, then age the ancient fruit to gold star quality. Aging to gold star quality takes exactly one month to complete, meaning you get four weeks worth, and you can (just) squeeze 120 casks into your basement and still be able to move around. So in your first month, you see no technical profits, then the next month, every week you harvest a batch of 30 gold-star wine as they mature, which are replaced by the same number of recently squeezed ancient fruit wine. And so the process repeats. Effectively increases your profit yield from your ancient fruit by 50%, allowing it to at least be competitive with hops, although still not in spitting distance of the profit from the fruit trees.
