So I want to make a revolver (As seen in gif) so that when I fire it, it plays the little animation that I created, Does anyone know how I can do this? Gif here: http://imgur.com/tOY4L7S (Its quite small)
a chargegun has an animated sprite, though the timing is different than what you are looking for. If you start with that as a framework im sure you can get it to work.
There's a way to do that relatively easily. Take a look at the Unitd Systems Expansion mod and look at basically any non-burst gun. The area where you'll want to look at is for the slide weapon part. The slide smoothly moves back and forth whenever it is fired. I would suggest looking at the Enfielder rifle.
