Ideas to make the game feel more alive

    Ok grab some snacks this is a big one.

    Space stations overhaul
    • Trading system - Possibility to hire traders into the station which will accumulate money for you over time (or possibly even order some special materials for you). You will have to choose from their trading offers and start the trading process. Example : there will be different goods with different values that will change as normal market prices over-time as weapons, meds, ship parts, etc, after choosing whats the most profitable for you, you start the trading process which could take 2+ hours to complete or possibly even more (depends on the trade deal complexity). After you start the trading process there could be Npcs entering your station, talking to your trader and then leaving or possibly even exchanging, deploying goods, crates from ship to station or something after some time so your station looks more alive.
    • Guards and pirates - The profit from trading may bring unwanted attention in a form of pirates (and different threats possible dependable on what you are trading with, example: if you were to trade space honey it would bring attention of space bees ^^) anyway, the higher the profit from trading the higher chance of pirate invasion, now.. for this you could hire and train guards, first use of them would be defending the station (obviously) and second would be reducing the risk of pirate invasion (or other threats) depending on their level, skill and number, this would bring balance to the bandit attack chance allowing you for higher profit trading deals with less chance of unwanted disturbance. Failing at defense should the guards or you not be able to handle off the pirates may result in different punishments (not too high otherwise no one would risk the trading ^^) like loosing the profit of the ongoing trade sequence or something. The low risk attack chance should be really low so people dont have to defend the station all the time because it would get annoyng really soon, yet once upon a time its nice to have some little event to spice things up for you as one just needs some disctraction sometimes when working on some bigger (not so fun) project like new house :D

    • Pokemon arena - there could be place on outpost for example, where you could place your creatures against other ones and fight for money + possibly evolve your creatures with extra abilities and power (there would be limit ofcourse) like breathing fire, charging, stomping etc. that would make another activity worth a while when one gets bored :) + its nice way of upgrading your favorite pets
    • Ship battles - yep its preety common suggestion up here, anyway it could be simple or complicated, there are ton of ways, example : when encountering the ship one would get into a console like the ships AI and then there could be the overwiev of the enemy ship systems etc where you could target specific components you would see how is your ship doing, reaload time etc, you could buy components in your ship similiarly as your mech, if the ship gets destroyed (again lot of options) the ship could respawn in some shypiard planet, you would have to pay cost or some material for it, if not enough money or material you would have to work on the planet to pay up for the repairs in forms like digging material or completing side quests doing some common tasks in the planet city or something. The repairing of damaged ship could be done in multiple fun tasks too. this is deep theme, but you get the concept, this could lead to another addition which is utilizing your crew.
    • Refineries - you could buy refinery and then place it onto some planet, it would slowly mine materials national to the planet it is on without damaging anything, just another fun process of making income imperium
    • Messing with genes - ok this one is a more complex but its worth mentioning, there are minigames/tasks in the game like the archeology system, it would be fun to have some minigame where you can mess with dna and create some own monsters or plants/trees by combyning the genes of already scanned subjects for example 3 slots for dna, you could combine characteristics/abilities of different creatures, you could create some monster plant for example that if you kill drops vegetable, add wings to non flight monster, or tweak already existing ones with different abilities (another way of upgrading/managing your pets), creating plants that give you multiple different fruits or totally new ones, again.. lot of possibilites and ways to do it.
    These would upgrade the game to another level, it has so much potential and there are so many more possibilities and actions to add up to make the universe feel alive, to always have something interesting to do, things that would be happening in the backround meanwhile you exploring the space or managing your imperium.

    I should mention one mechanic upgrade too even tho its not fit in this thread, i dont want to start new one just because of it, which is replacing wall tiles with another tiles.. yes like in terraria, it would make the speed process of upgrading your (whatever you re/building much easier and faster since if you want to make something big like change backround in the station... oh boy,.. i didnt finished that one lol or, make it in more fun way and have some new original mechanism like furniture console in the station that will let you change/place stuff across the station easily, would be really nice designing tool.
