Bug/Issue In Quick Play, my turn sometimes never comes

I find that in Quick Play, every once in a while when it's the other player's turn, nothing appears to happen for a while - longer than the turn timer should have allowed the other person's turn to last. I'm playing against random people so I'm not sure what they're doing, whether they lost their connection or ended their turn and it's hanging between turns or whatever.

One suggestion that would make it easier to debug issues like this would be to let the turn timer continue counting down while it's the other player's turn. Currently I can only see the amount of time remaining when they do something (to me, this also seems like a bug). More generally, it would be good if I had more information about what the other player is doing, including a warning if they disconnect.

Sometimes, closing Wargroove, restarting, and reconnecting to the game works and makes it my turn again, but other times it has no effect.

I'm on a PC (Windows) through Steam. I'm often switching to other programs during the game while the other player takes their turn. I'm not sure if there's something I'm doing wrong due to lack of information.
