Is there a way to duplicate a item with commands?

is there a way to either duplicate a randomly generated weapon or spawn in two of the same with commands?

First I wanted to spawn in a voliumshortsword with different colors but realized that was impossible because they don't use palettes.

is there a way to spawn two of the same energyshortswords?

 

There is no method of doing so in-game that I am aware of. However, you CAN duplicate an item by cheating.
To do so:

1. Put the items you want duplicated on board your ship.
2. Back up the .shipworld file.
3. Pick up the items to be duplicated in game.
4. Delete the newest shipworld file and restore the backup.
5. Repeat until you get the desired number of item

I'm sorry if I can't suggest any other way, but it's the only thing I can think of.
