KIDS - COMMUNITY MOD - Because the Universe need more kids!

• Pending Features:
  • Kids talking random phrases;
  • Change captivestate.lua to implement more poses while in pet state;
• Know issues:
  • Kids only walk while free, after captures by a capture pod, they will only run.
    • The cause: captivestate.lua only have three states, idle, jumping and running;
    • Solution: improve the file with more behaviors, taking care of check if the object is or not a kid, otherwise it can break other types of pets;

We need your help. If you feel capable of making scripts.

The following issues need to be exchanged:

• captivestate.lua, to improve it with walking pose;
• Kids talking random phrases, like NPCs;

why i can't use it??

 

Try this link: http://goo.gl/TFRgB8 it's in english.

After selecting your pose, you need to export it. The browser will ask you to name the file, simple make a name like idle1.png for example xD

Don't miss to name the extension .png, it's very important.

My last kid I did a folder and organized like this:


And then, did the GIF animation, to stripe using ShoesBox. I think I'll make a video of the whole process next time ^^

So, firstly, my computer has an error, I am unable to download ANYTHING (I have starbound on another laptop but it isn't MY laptop so I cant do this on it)



I hope it still works without being in stripe form. I also dont have any direct image editors so all I could do was resize and reshape these images.


If it wont work then tell me, I may be able to find a solution if I look enough!

P.S. "fall" animations are just jump animations after the character starts descending.

I managed to make your kid working inside the template. This is the final version, resized, cleaned up and mirrored =)

Idle.1-2 walk.1-2-3-4-5-6-7-8 run-1-2-3-4-5-6-7 jump-1-2-3-4-5-6-7-8-9

They necessary need to be in that order, size and orientation, otherwise, authors must modify the file "default.frames" to meet their animations.

Please, take a time to fill the follow information about your Kid, just replace the sampled inside " " :

I can't adjust every new templates, by my lack of time, but the topic should have sufficient information to make very easy your jobs.

A good step by step of doing a new template is:

• Create a nice kid on Character Creator;
• Export the necessary frames, like idle, walk, run and jump;
• Mirror and resize them using your favorite image editor;
• Select all of them, drag inside the shoebox as I did in the Video;
• Make your final touchs;
• Replace an original template to test in your game;
• Upload the resource here and share it to the world!

Very important!!!! Shoebox works with GIFs OR organized PNGs, simple select them all, drag inside the frame option and it will export a strip for you. I prefer to make GIFs because is easy to edit the animation, but you can make it in many ways, including manually.

And didnt you just make the stripe? do i just need to mirror it or something?

Thanks for taking time to do this for me, even if it wasnt all ready

 

If anything could be added, your kid should be in your "party". Basically you shouldn't be able to accidentally kill your kid. Also he could carry things for you!

Vey nice Modidea Lov eit.
Only a bit a problem when I see (let`s Play people) many love to kill peacefull villagers for their furniture (hate this).
I keep my villages ever untoutched. (ok ok sometimes a wallclock and a refrigerator but not sooo mutch).

Sometimes I do it too. Specially when I found a Glitch Castle and the Guard don't allow me to enter ^ ^

 

I kill only the warriors than, not the Civilians.
