Hello guys! I was just thinking about the immersion in Starbound, and I realized that NPCs are messed up: why aren't there kids in any village? I think the game would be much more immersive if kids were implemented in the game. What's your opinion about it?
I think that this wouldn't be hard to implement. After all, I think all you must do is make a new sprite, and just have it be put into the random grab-bag of NPC's to put in the village.
Yea, Jonesy, I think so too, but none came up when I searched "Kids" using Title Only, so even if he searched, it wouldn't have really done much good.
they really should add this. I can already see the adorable baby hylotls walking awkwardly because they're technically tadpoles. PREACH IT!
I think the word 'immersive' gets flung about quite a bit, considering we're talking about a 2-D side-scrolling 'retro' (read: graphically lazy) game about going around in space and fighting animals that can literally have a hot dog for a head. Seriously, this game couldn't have immersion if it tried.
I think there should be all kinds of NPCs, ideally. Old ones, young ones, rich ones, poor ones, skinny ones, fat ones, REALLY fat ones, and everything inbetween. But realistically that would be a lot of work. I'd be happy if they just added in the old ones and the young ones. They don't need to have anything but the basic personalities, and maybe a few extra lines from the little ones. "You smell funny. Hehe!" "Can I play with your gun?" "My mommy told me not to talk to strangers." "You're weird"
why doesn't somebody just make an immersion mod with more npc features? if it had the stuff that's been suggested on this page I'd pay a few dollars for it.
