Closed "Launch starbound" in the launcher wont work anymore

I tried to move the task bar but still cant find any button to launch the game

 

a) This is the wrong thread in which to post this issue.

b) Open the launcher > Press [TAB] 10 times > Press Enter.

c) This is caused by a very low screen resolution. Hopefully the patch will auto-resize the launcher, or make it resizeable.

 

It would be really awesome if someone could fix this problem. I've been really patient, and I love Starbound. It's my favorite game. My launcher opens, and I can see the button. But when I click it the game doesn't pop up. I've waited forever, and checked the diagnostics. The first time it said it was in compatibility mode. And I fixed that. Then now, it's just not working and saying: ElevateCreateProcess.

Can someone help, if they've already fixed this problem? It would be a major help!

If you click Launch and *nothing* happens, or you hear a Ding, you most likely have Starbound installed in Program Files or Program Files (x86).

If that's not the case, please attach your starbound.log after attempting to launch SB.

 

Excuse me, but could I have some assistance? I just got this game, and I don't know how to turn off always run as admin. Could you tell me how?

 

Hi, you probably don't have it on if you didn't do it yourself like I did.

Anyway if you're using Windows 7 like me you can browse to your Steam folder then Steam\SteamApps\common\Starbound\win32

In this folder there are the game exes. Right click on starbound, then properties, then open the compatibility tab. There is a box that says Run this program as Administrator. Just untick that if for some reason it's ticked.

If you're using a different Windows version you might have to look up the way to do this, I'm not sure if it's always the same. Good luck.

It wasn't checked to always run as administrator, and I set it on that just to see what would happen when I launched the game. It no longer performs the error message sound, and I am currently waiting for it to start. If it doesn't work, administrator being off may have only been part of the problem, because something else is blocking it.

"charactercreationmod" is out of date. Wait for the author to update it, or remove it, or both.

 

It didn't open, but I did find a way to fix it. I tried a method performed by someone in this thread earlier, opening it directly through C:/ProgramFiles(x86)/Steam/SteamApps/common/Starbound/win32, and it surprisingly worked. I'm currently on the waiting screen. Hope this finally fixes it!
