Make a way to get the purple 'shorts' again if you gave them back to the mayor

Hello there!
My suggestion is to make a way for players to get the purple shorts again for the new pants recipe. I am a completionist and ill cry when the switch gets updates and I cant get these fashionable pants. I was originally going to use the spawn items 'bug' but i noticed it was patched, which I understand. Once nintendo finds out theres no going back. Maybe make a rare event of some kind to make it possible to get the purple shorts again. That would be awesome, love this game by the way!

 

No matter what your up schmidts creek on this. Even if you get this fashionable headwear you need it to craft one of several variations. Gilded shorts and the such. If they include a system to get these crop duster dungerees you know people will want you to be able to steal haleys or linus's as well
