Very annoying to have to scroll through them! Make it a mini picture like the item log, and click to read more please!

To be honest, I like the book format. It's gimmicky, sure, but it's a cool gimmick.
Maybe it could be like the item log, and have an image of a book in a corner, and when you click on that, the old book format will pop up.

Yeah I kind of like it, but then again when you have to keep clicking through a ton of pages each time to look at monsters, it gets annoying. swapping between both views would be nice :)

Adding a table of contents should work to both making it easier to navigate, and keeping the book UI.

I support the table of contents idea. It would keep the nice UI, and would fit in logically. No magic floating monster pages here!

Or you could have taxonomy, so like kingdom: fungus, animalia, plantae, mysticalia. Mysticalia being wisps and golems and those weird new ghost things. Then phylum (let's say mysticalia), constructs, energies. Then class for constructs would be maskae (why not indumentus?) and golemae. Then orders would be split up by boss versions of things and regular enemies. Family would be variations of the thing that were similar, so like the fire lemurian and the regular lemurian. And then... well there wouldn't be a genus and species xD.

This would only work when you have many, MANY more enemies, because it would be annoying to have a phylum with one thing in it. It would be navigated like a chart that gets more and more specific as you click, and at the end you would have the beautiful descriptive page with the picture and the description.
