Race Meet the Oscura

this race fits starbound looks cool and like a true alien race need to be in the game end of story

 

A MAFIA,GIANTS OIL CREATURES? I think they should use thompson plasma machine gun O_O or better yet, FLAMETHROWER THOMPSON!

 

A flamethrower Thomson? That would look really strange.... The plasma on the other hand reminds me of futurama

Who said anything about them being flammable....

 

They're made of oil. I think they'd go up if they got a bit too close to fire.

They could have some sort of transparent skin-iike covering that would make them a bit less flammable, but if you burned that away they would burn to nothingness.

 

Maybe they should take more damage if burn?

 

only in a mod, but in the vanilla game ...

 

I burst into flames WAAAAY too much. So personally extra fire damage won't exactly help
Plus that would be a terrible racial ability....

 

not all oil burn as good as ohter oils
and some dosent burn at all i think
by the way maybe they are not just oil maybe they have water in them yes i know water and oil is uncompatible but not if a third element like sope or something els that makes water mix vit oil was added

p.s. humans or any of the races are not very resistant to fire they either
not even robots.they take damges because the cpu and battery gets overheated very fast and they got a lots of other parts in them that can catch fire to

 

I don,t see why this race couldnt have Been added too the vamilla game

they alreedy got plasma space cowboys, USSR monkeymen,savage plant people, medivel robots and japanese fish people.
This race make as much sense all the ohter races in starbound

 

First off, I love love love the Oscura, they're so cool!

Anyway, when I was exploring the other night and inadvertently took a swim in a pool of oil, an idea for a racial bonus/trait for the Oscura struck me - no slowness debuff from contact with the Oil liquid, maybe even a slight buff from it.

 

Man, It's been a while since I last heard of this race.

 

Well, compared to something like higher jumps or faster mining, a buff or neutralized oil racial would be very situational.

 

This thread need more art
