Heya, having a small problem with a side-effect of server hosting. FYI, I'm a bit new to port forwarding, so any pointers from the more experienced would be great!

Basically, I need to set my computer and router to a static IP in order for my Starbound server to work correctly. Then, the server works great! However, whenever I set the static IP(s), a number of my applications lose connectivity to the internet. Such as Internet browsers, steam store, etc. However some applications such as steam chat, program updaters, etc, all still connect correctly. Is there any way to fix this so I can have my server and browsers working at the same time?

I would say to just reinstall the affected software so it recognizes the new IP.

    Or

Use Evolve for hassle free private networking. Perfect for servers. No port forwarding experience required.

Sounds like a possible DNS problem. When you set the static IP address on your computer, have you also set DNS server addresses?
