So, i recently really wanted novakids in-game. and i was bored... so i modded them in. customization and everything. they're very buggy, and their bodies aren't fully sprited yet. should i release it? ___________ WHY I ASK: for permission I don't want dev's getting mad at me for doing it I don't want bietol getting mad at me for doing it I don't want suika getting mad at me for doing it. It's real buggy. ____________
There's no real reason why not to release the mod. {a} Probably the worst that happens is they would approach you and say "We'd rather you took that down", and you say "Oops. OK, sorry". -- a heavy handed approach would certainly not help good will. {b} I don't know what this point is about. Sorry, haha. {c} Ditto. {d} Mark it as such. There are other WIP mods in the database. As long as you are upfront about it's status and it's marked clearly (and as long as it's semi-functional) I am sure people will be cool with it. Novakid isn't something I am personally fussed about, but it might bring a smile to others. I say go for it. And if you're really concerned about {a}, ask a dev directly. very late edit: Oh. My... I just realised who suika and bietol are. I... Words don't even... Sorry!
I am finished with the sprites, i just don't know how to make it change color. the only thing that changes is the neck and face. it's buggy. i'll just let others fix it. and i don't want it to be to great, as it is coming out soon.
Yeah, if you mark it as a WIP, it's probably more likely that the devs will use some of your work than force you to take it down.

It's released yet it's in BugFix mode. meaning it's as buggy as hell. and if someone can please help me on the starting crash error i'd appreciate it.

Well, for starters, it's 216MB. That's huge. Like, really huge. Are you including all of the games assets in the mod or something? I am downloading it now, anyway. I'll have a poke around and see what's up.
It seems like a most folders have that. Ships, sfx(probably what's making it so large), interface, humanoid, codex, and cinematics all have files you don't need.
Most of both folders aren't needed though. For example, in humanoid you have the files for every race. Unless you edited those files, you wont need to include them. Same with the stuff in codex, just include the ones you made/edited.
Found the first problem: there was no ship for the Novakid. I am still going through everything though. I will zip it up and upload it to this thread for you when I have got it to a point where it doesn't CTD. edit: Also, novakid.treasurepools I don't think should be a thing. What's in there goes in default.treasurepools. edit 2: Also, the hurt sfx are mp3. Not sure if this will cause CTD, but it certainly doesn't help with bloat.
