This mode will simply make every pickaxe in the game one-handed.

1. Extract to the "Starbound" folder.

EXTRA NOTES:

This mod should NOT require a new character.

Two pickaxes will NOT increase your mining speed. The pickaxe on the "R" slot will still mine the background.

I've tried this mod myself today, the one drawback is if you want to mine wall blocks you have to switch the pickaxe to your right hand slot.
Not that most user care about that but I use it often to create light holes near the surface. It's sad to loose the ability from it..

 

Yeah. i know about that. Personally I place torches. Other than that I have to switch If I wanna mine backgrounds. But I'm not doing that very pften.

Exatcly what i think. being able to mine with constant light even when you are out of torches

I also had some fun changing the flashlight beam radius from 0.1 to 1.0.
