I'd like to put it in the center of the room, and cover to the south side of the room to check for a hole beneath the blast. The room must be there for a reason!
You take five rocks from the rubble. These might come in handy later. You place the explosive in literally the single place in the entire mine that will be of zero benefit to you and activate the timer. The ground shakes and dust and fire fly everywhere as the explosive goes off. The explosive only kicked up more rocks and dirt and left a huge crater underneath the fissure. You get a Chutzpah point for making your blood race a bit anyways. Health: 3/4 Chutzpah: 2/4 Currently carrying: Grey Jumpsuit (Worn) Data Recorder Rock x 5
You make it back to the room with the large fissure. You're starting to feel a bit paranoid. Why would they let you go down there, can they see you there, is this just another part of the tests? Health: 3/4 Chutzpah: 2/4 Currently carrying: Grey Jumpsuit (Worn) Data Recorder Rock x 5
You enter the next room. The room is adorned with a fantastically decorated, if weathered, red velvet carpet with white floofy edges. Nearly deflated balloons hang just barely aloft by the edges. A nearby sign reads, "Congratulations to you! You've successfully demonstrated you have the physical, mental, and logical capacity to be fit for the outside world. Just beyond the yellow tape, you'll be greeted by the men and women that put in their all to make you the best you can be. Once you're ready, these fine men and women will lead you up the elevator to your new home." A bit farther away you can just barely make out a skeleton next to a power core, a hastily scribbled note, and a pocket pistol. You take the pocket pistol and the power core. The note reads, "Well... I suppose this is the end of the line. I'm not going to slink out of this one... too weak to even try. The colony failed... no food... barely any water just... lots of bloody fucking ice. Can't eat any more snow, going to feel sick. I really thought this was going to pan out for me, really thought I was going to make something of myself here. Don't know why I'm writing this now... maybe it keeps my mind off of finally putting myself out of my own misery. That bloody fucking war, cut off all our supplies. They didn't even care, what's one little upstart planet to whatever they were shooting themselves over, right? Most everyone with money packed themselves like sardines on the transports and took off but not me... didn't make it in time... war was too bloody to risk sending more aid for a handful of people. Thought I had hope for a second when I found that old broken down skipjack behind the sally burger. Thing was just missing a few parts... too hungry to lug this old power core back... can barely move. Sorry Chuck, guess I won't be paying back that five bucks after all. Prick." The door is an elevator. You see elevator controls. You don't need to use chutzpah to fear the weapon because you already fear it! Good thing you somehow know good trigger discipline. Also you know how to speak French. And you know how to clean things really fucking good. You take the elevator up and while you go you check the ammunition in the gun. It looks like the gun uses micro-shaved bullets and fires them using rail technology so you have upwards of a thousand or so rounds with this one magazine. Stepping out, you see a row of research and marketing computers. The main office is just up and to your right. There's a row of more tubes to your left. A stairwell to the maintenance and observation deck is to your left. Health: 3/4 Chutzpah: 2/4 Currently carrying: Grey Jumpsuit (Worn) Data Recorder Rock x 5 Pocket Pistol Power Core
These tubes look the same as the one you woke up in. Though, these seem to be offline or in stasis as they aren't bubbling or producing any light. The main office is, for some reason, covered in posters of toasters. They make you feel uneasy. Digging through the desk, you find a stapler, a flashlight, and a pile of burned documents. You can't make out anything useful. The computer is displaying: "System going into low power mode. ... An unexpected error has occurred, flushing system and rebooting. ... Activating systems, error in tube 1: Error code 751, resetting tube. ... Tube 1 reset. ... System going into low power mode." The flashlight looks like it has batteries in it, no clue on how fresh they are. Clicking it on and off seems to show its working. You're starting to get a bit heavy with all the items carried. You think you can carry one more item before you hit your limit. You restart the computer by clicking the power button.
