    POLYMORPH HAT

yep, a polymorph hat, don't know what that means? allow me to explain, polymorph is when something can turn into whatever it wants! (this may be breaching the limits of this competition, I'm sorry )

    A simple story to explain:
an ancient being created a special hat, a hat that could change colors . One day, a terrible accident happened to the creature, it tumbled into his own cauldron and died. The hat also fell into the cauldron, in which many more hats were created, all taking a part of the creatures spirit with it. With such an ability as this creature, the hats were able to transform, able to "polymorph". Space explorers found the hats, contained them, destroyed them, wore them, traded them, anything, I mean, starbound players wanted to use the hat for its full extent (lol im kidding)

    A living hat!:
not exactly a living hat, but based upon the where the wearer is (or at seemingly random intervals) the hat will decide to change its form, buffing or de-buffing any stats to an extent. The hats don't like space ships and will change back into its original form, just a normal dull cap. Upon landing on a planet, depending on the gravity, mass, temperature etc. the hat will change its colour, appearance and traits, this will also affect the players traits.

    Appearance:
I can give its appearance when it is "dull" Note: it can be in different colours and variants too, i used red cos i could.
    edit: but i colourfied them

Now to see what it looks like on a person... when they're on a space ship

(kinda failed the "fit hair into hat" specification, maybe it can be fixed?)

Hat on a person... on a planet (red scheme again)

    Post me your thoughts :p

A very very neat idea, but I'm not sure if the devs will wanna do it since this obviously would take a fair amount of effort on their part to program it =/
