Bug/Issue Sewing machine stole my cloth (Android)

Don't know if this is a bug or just the way it is with mobile sometimes...

I had a piece of cloth on the spool, paused the game, saved a backup (just in case), and turned my screen off to do something real quick. Turned my game back on and was surprised to see that my cloth that was on the spool was gone and not in my inventory.

I guess it's because I was in the sewing machine screen when my game timed out, right?
