Closed [Solved] Changing character gender

I accidentally made a female avian, in which i have a lot of work (techs, items, sector X).
I tried editing the "player" file, i did ctrl+f for the word gender and changed "female" to "male", saved it, and when i opened starbound again my character was not there! it just dissapaired from the characters list.

I tried 2 online SB char editors but they don't change gender

anyone knows how to do it?

 

You can't edit the files in a simple text editor. I believe Starcheat can change character properties. If that doesn't work then you'll have to make a new character, this time don't "accidentally" play for hours on end after you make a character.

I though the female body was just part of the undeveloped things on avians, like the expressions when pressing the arrows (they only have 1/4), after I made another character and it looked completely different, so I realized i had a female one.
