Bug/Issue [SOLVED] Wife died in the mine, lost her axe (PS4)

Howdy. I tried searching for this issue but only found old threads from February / March specific to the PC version.

My wife died while in the mine, got rescued by Clint but was then told she had lost some items. Unfortunately one of those was her copper axe. It's been three or four in game days since then and the mayor has not shown up to give it back (which the PC threads suggest is what is supposed to happen).

Does the PS4 / Xbox branch still have this game breaking bug present or does she just need to wait longer? If it's a bug, can this get added to the official bug list? Any other known workaround to get her axe back?

Just wanted to note, she finally found it in one of her chests. Not sure when it spawned there but thankfully it's back! Whew!

This is not a bug, this is how it is supposed to work.
