So your sitting there in your space station taking a quick coffie break when suddenly some weird octopus like thing splats on the viewing window and does octopussy things trying to get at you, of course making you spew coffie everywhere and hit the 'alarm button' Space isn't safe and whatever just snuck into your airvent is definitly not safe or friendly! course small invading aliens is only one idea What about alien to ship combat to avoid your ship being eaten? (asuming there are vehicles that can be attacked or controlled) Acctualy having to deal with the mobs that sleep out in the dead of space would make epic boss fights... Any of the Cthuhlu-oid stuff would fit well here and since they are nonsence creatures of madness you can have fun with as much tenticals or nightmare fuel stuff that you want! (some of the old 2D side scroller games had some of the best horrifying bosses ever)
A rare event like a goblin army in terraria, I wouldn't mind having something in starbound like that.
Oh absolutely. You cant have space settlers without making the native animals of a planet veery angry atleast a few times. I have seen enough space movies/shows to know better. If you havnt been put on a spit roast or had them try your extreamly lucky so far
space mobs -------------- WE WANT MORE PAY! STOP THESE HAZARDOUS CONDITIONS! YOU CAN'T COMPLETE THE DEATH-STAR WITHOUT US! I LOVE EWOKS! ---------------- all that and more passed through my head the second I read "space mobs". I just love the idea of tons of astronaughts just floating around protesting something as one huge mob. maybe the invasion of a nearby planet? but yeah, it would be freaky to fight some 4 dimensional space-whale or the Intergalactic Cthulhu Beast or whatever... so man your battlestations!
Yup! and im even willing to not know they exsist till i suddenly have a tentacle shaking my ship like a baby, which would make me scream like alittle girl, and get much more enjoyment out of the space encounters. And yes Space hippies and alien rights peoples would be an amusing addition once you get to a more well known / leveled up stage
I figured you'd appreciate protesting/workers-rights mobs a bit more since you plan on death-star-ing.
just wait till you get planet side: whats that random NPC? no, I'm not sorry I hit your granny with my hoverbike like I was playing Crazy Taxi!
Had not planned on satisfying some of my sick GTA urges in this game... but that is definitly something to look forwards to!
