Whenever people on my server reach a certain distance (not sure if it's specific distance or chunk-based) when traveling left or right on any planet; they get a CTD with zero warning. It has happened multiple times to multiple people, including myself.

Nope, it's definitely based on reaching a certain point in distance on the planets we've been exploring. At least two of us were running as fast as we could left or right to test it, we crashed. Then we spent time on the same planet, mining out ores, plenty of time, no crashing. For some reason another of our friends can freely explore the entire planet without crashing but for three of us so far, we crash upon reaching certain distances. According to him, both worlds have Mining Camps. I'm about to try a different world.

Edit: So I've tried another planet, no problems. So it's either Harmless Planets, or planets with those mining camps spawned on them. But that still doesn't quite explain why my friend can travel the entire planet but we cant...

Is your friend on a different operating system? I have friends who use Macs, who can't go on certain planets while I can, and visa versa.

I may have figured out a workaround. After suffering the issue several times, I decided to enable admin commands, and forced a reload on both client and server sides. This fixed the issue (at least for the planet I am currently exploring).

How would I go about trying to do that?

"/admin enable" will enable admin mode
"/reload" will reload the world on your client
"/serverreload" will reload the universe on the server
"/admin disable" will turn off admin mode

Admin mode is a sort of god mode, so if you're not into cheating, you will want to deactivate it when you're done.
If it's on someone else's server, you may rather wish to contact an administrator to do the server reload for you.
If you are on single player, you shouldn't need to set up admin passwords on your config, but you might on a server.

    Hope this helps.
