Bug/Issue Starbound Won't Start At All (sbinit.config weirdness)

Been having this issue for a while. When I try to start, Starbound automatically throws this error message at me and doesn't launch.

Installed/reinstalled multiple times. It just doesn't work.

Anybody know how to solve this?

 

in your Starbound directory, go to storage and you should see this (ignore icons):

or this:

if not, right click, go to view, and select details. once you do, we need the one that says "LOG file" under "Type". if it does not exist, then idk what to do

The only places where I have log files in the directory are in Koala_Storage and Giraffe_Storage. In regular storage (the rightful place for log files in 1.0, I assume), all I have is this.

 

well that shows that Starbound doesn't even have a chance to log anything, which may mean something other than Starbound is causing it to crash, but may not

 

It's very strange. Up 'til this update, Starbound worked fine on my computer. But now, like I said, nothing doing.

 

are you using a 32 bit computer (x86 processor)?

 

Nope, got a 64 bit computer here. Windows 10 OS, also.

Tried opening the game from the exe option, as Admin, from Steam, etc.

Thank you for the help, though! It's much appreciated. This issue is so disheartening, especially since I love this game.

 

It definitely exists in sbinit.config form, last I checked. Starbound just fails to open it (or do whatever it needs to do with it), according to the error message.

 

I have. The error message comes up just like it does when I try to launch through Steam.

 

I tried it again today, and...confirmed. Running as admin produces the same error message.

 

I have, several times. No dice. I've uninstalled/reinstalled straight from Steam, though. Is there a special way I should uninstall, or have I been doing it right?

 

Having this issue as well, the main issue i am seeing is that when i add the mods, it causes an instant crash.
